Council Minutes of 12/4/2007 <br />Tallon moved for adoption. The motion was seconded by Councilman Gareau and <br />passed unanimously. Resolution No. 2007-130 adopted. <br />Resolution No. 2007-132 introduced by Mayor O'Grady was given its third reading. A <br />resolution supporting the preservation of customer choice through Ohio Electric <br />Governmental Aggregation. Councilman Gareau moved for adoption, and the motion <br />was seconded by Council Member Dailey Jones. Roll call: Gareau, yes; Jones, yes; <br />Orlowski, yes, with comment that the current experiment of deregulation has been an <br />abysmal failure, with the northeast Ohio rates the highest in the State with no prospects <br />for a decrease. The best choice for the residents of Ohio is an end to deregulation and <br />returning to the regulation of the utilities. Roll call continued: Barker, yes; Miller, yes; <br />Tallon, yes. The motion passed unanimously. Resolution No. 2007-132 adopted. <br />Ordinance No. 2007-134 introduced by Mayor O'Grady was given its third reading. An <br />ordinance creating new Section 131.02 of the Administrative Code, entitled "Authority to <br />Accept Donations," in order to authorize the Mayor to accept certain donations on behalf <br />of the city, as amended. Councilman Tallon moved for adoption. The motion was <br />seconded by Council Member Dailey Jones and passed unanimously. Ordinance No. <br />2007-134 adopted. <br />Ordinance No. 2007-27 introduced by Mayor O'Grady on behalf of himself and Council <br />Member Dailey Jones was given its second reading. An ordinance amending Section <br />521.11 of the General Offenses Code in order to establish new regulations relating to the <br />deposit of snow and ice on public sidewalks, tree lawn areas, and driveway aprons in the <br />City of North Olmsted, and declaring an emergency, as amended. Council Member <br />Dailey Jones moved for suspension of the rule requiring three readings, and the motion <br />was seconded by Councilman Barker. Roll call: Jones, yes; Barker, yes; Miller, yes, <br />with comment that it is his hope that this winter our Service Department will refrain from <br />blocking sidewalks with snow, particularly at the intersections and in residential <br />neighborhoods. Roll call continued: Tallon, yes; Orlowski, yes. The motion passed <br />unanimously. Council Member Dailey Jones moved for adoption. The motion was <br />seconded by Councilman Barker and passed unanimously. Ordinance No. 2007-27 <br />adopted. <br />Ordinance No. 2007-138 introduced by Mayor O'Grady was given its second reading. <br />An ordinance to make appropriations for current expenses and other expenditures for the <br />City of North Olmsted for the year ending December 31, 2008, as amended. Councilman <br />Tallon moved for suspension of the rule requiring three readings noting the legislation <br />had been heard in committee. The motion was seconded by Councilman Miller and <br />passed unanimously. Councilman Tallon moved for adoption. The motion was seconded <br />by Councilman Miller and passed unanimously. Ordinance No. 2007-138 adopted. <br />Ordinance No. 2007-139 was introduced and placed on first reading by Mayor O'Grady. <br />An ordinance establishing rates of compensation for various administrative and <br />legislative personnel for the year 2008. <br />6 <br />
