The motion was seconded by Councilman Ryan and
passed unanimously.
The minutes of the Council meeting of September 18, 2007 were approved as written.
President Kennedy announced the following legislation would be considered for passage
under suspension of the rules: second reading, Ordinances 2007-106, 2007-99; first
reading, Resolution 2007-112;
President Kennedy announced the first meeting in November would be held on
Wednesday, November 7, due to the General Election.
REPORTS
Mayor O'Grady: 1) Pleased to announce that Mayor Ed Boyle's portrait has been added
to the Chambers, and we look forward to adding Mayor Musial's portrait soon.
2) Leaf raking for our senior or disabled citizens who need this assistance is scheduled
for Saturday, November 10. If anyone wishes to volunteer to help us provide this service
or to take advantage of the service, please contact our Dept. of Community Life Services.
3) Recreation Dept. will begin rebuilding Field One at North Olmsted Park. This is a
collaborative effort with the North Olmsted City Schools and the Hot Stove organization.
4) Senior Fest is scheduled for Wednesday, October 17, at Springvale Ballroom. This is
an opportunity for senior citizens in our community to join with seniors at N. O. High
School in an event co-sponsored by the City of North Olmsted and the schools. There
will be a $3 charge due to the increase in cost of putting on the function. A note to
Council, this is precisely the type of event that we envisioned having at no cost if Council
had supported that legislation.
