<br /> <br />MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE COUNCIL <br />OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />OCTOBER 2, 2007 <br />Present: President of Council Kennedy, Council Members Barker, Gareau, <br />Dailey Jones, Miller, Orlowski, Ryan, Tallon <br />Also Present: Mayor O'Grady, Law Director Dubelko, Finance Director Copfer, Clerk of <br />Council Seman <br />President Kennedy called the meeting to order at 8:12 p.m. in Council Chambers, 5200 <br />Dover Center Road, North Olmsted, Ohio. <br />Members of the audience were invited to join Council in the recitation of the Pledge of <br />Allegiance. <br />Councilman Gareau made a motion to amend the agenda to remove Ordinance 2007-110 <br />at the request of the administration. The motion was seconded by Councilman Ryan and <br />passed unanimously. <br />The minutes of the Council meeting of September 18, 2007 were approved as written. <br />President Kennedy announced the following legislation would be considered for passage <br />under suspension of the rules: second reading, Ordinances 2007-106, 2007-99; first <br />reading, Resolution 2007-112; <br />President Kennedy announced the first meeting in November would be held on <br />Wednesday, November 7, due to the General Election. <br />REPORTS <br />Mayor O'Grady: 1) Pleased to announce that Mayor Ed Boyle's portrait has been added <br />to the Chambers, and we look forward to adding Mayor Musial's portrait soon. <br />2) Leaf raking for our senior or disabled citizens who need this assistance is scheduled <br />for Saturday, November 10. If anyone wishes to volunteer to help us provide this service <br />or to take advantage of the service, please contact our Dept. of Community Life Services. <br />3) Recreation Dept. will begin rebuilding Field One at North Olmsted Park. This is a <br />collaborative effort with the North Olmsted City Schools and the Hot Stove organization. <br />4) Senior Fest is scheduled for Wednesday, October 17, at Springvale Ballroom. This is <br />an opportunity for senior citizens in our community to join with seniors at N. O. High <br />School in an event co-sponsored by the City of North Olmsted and the schools. There <br />will be a $3 charge due to the increase in cost of putting on the function. A note to <br />Council, this is precisely the type of event that we envisioned having at no cost if Council <br />had supported that legislation. <br />
