~` <br />MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE COUNCIL <br />OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />OCTOBER 7, 2008 <br />Present: President of Council Kennedy, Council Members Barker, Dailey Jones, <br />Kearney, Mahoney, Orlowski <br />Also Present: Mayor O'Grady, Law Director Dubelko, Acting Clerk of Council Murphy <br />Absent: Council Member Gareau and Council Member Ryan <br />President Kennedy called the meeting to order at 8:02 p.m. in Council Chambers, 5200 <br />Dover Center Road, North Olmsted, Ohio. <br />Members of the audience were invited to join Council in the recitation of the Pledge of <br />Allegiance. <br />The minutes of the Council meeting of September 16, 2008 were approved as written. <br />President Kennedy announced the following legislation would be considered for passage <br />under suspension of the rules: First reading, Ordinance 2008-123 and Resolution <br />2008-130. <br />Councilman Orlowski made a motion to amend the agenda to add Ordinance 2008-131. <br />The motion was seconded by Councilman Kearney and passed unanimously. <br />Councilman Barker made a motion to remove Ordinance 2008-118 from the agenda and <br />place it back into committee. The motion was seconded by Council Member Dailey <br />Jones. Per the request of the Mayor, Councilman Barker explained that Mrs. Copfer, who <br />was not in attendance, may be planning on approaching Council will a different way to <br />handle this, perhaps a different objective. He would like to give her the opportunity to <br />discuss her ideas. Mayor O'Grady said, with that understanding, the administration had <br />no objection. The motion was passed unanimously. Ordinance 2008-118 was removed <br />from the agenda and placed back into committee. <br />RE <br />Mayor O'Grady: 1) In an example of doing more with less, the Fire Dept. has been <br />awarded equipment in the form of hydraulic rescue tools from the Dept. of Homeland <br />Security. Congratulations to our Finance Director and to our Fire Chief for putting <br />forward this initiative. <br />2) The annual Mayor's Charity Ball was held on Saturday, September 27. The event <br />netted almost $3,500 for charity and for important causes in this region. Thanks to all <br />
