S. <br />Council Minutes of 8/5/2008 <br />Councilman Gareau moved for adoption. The motion was seconded by Councilman <br />Barker and passed unanimously. Resolution No. 2008-91 adopted. <br />Ordinance No. 2008-69 introduced by Councilmen Mahoney and Barker was given its <br />second reading. An ordinance providing for the submission to the electors of the City of <br />North Olmsted of an amendment to Article VI, Section 3 of the Charter of the City of <br />North Olmsted to provide for the Fire Chief to become a member of the unclassified <br />service of the city, and declaring an emergency. <br />Ordinance No. 2008-70 introduced by Councilman Mahoney was given its second <br />reading. An ordinance providing for the submission to the electors of the City of North <br />Olmsted of amendments to Article IV, Section 3 and 9, of the Charter of the City of <br />North Olmsted to confer additional powers and duties upon the office of the President of <br />Council in order to improve the conduct of the business operations of the City Council, <br />and declaring an emergency. <br />Ordinance No. 2008-83 introduced by Mayor O'Grady was given its second reading. An <br />ordinance providing for the submission to the electors of the City of North Olmsted of an <br />amendment to paragraph (a) of Article III, Section 5 to eliminate the Charter requirement <br />that appointments and removals of department heads by the Mayor be subject to the <br />consent or approval of City Council; and declaring an emergency as amended. <br />Ordinance No. 2008-84 introduced by Mayor O'Grady was given its second reading. An <br />ordinance providing for the submission to the electors of the City of North Olmsted of <br />amendments to Article III, Section 5, and Article V, Sections 1, 4, 5, and 6 of the Charter <br />of the City of North Olmsted to grant authority to the Mayor to create, eliminate, and/or <br />merge departments headed by appointed directors; to further grant to the Mayor the <br />exclusive authority to assign duties to the appointed directors; to further abolish the <br />Departments of Public Service, Public Safety and Community Life Services asCharter- <br />level departments; and declaring an emergency. <br />Resolution No. 2008-97 was introduced and placed on first reading by Mayor O'Grady. <br />A resolution adopting the alternative tax budget of the City of North Olmsted for the <br />fiscal year beginning January 1, 2009 and submitting the same to the County Auditor and <br />declaring an emergency. <br />Ordinance No. 2008-98 was introduced and placed on first reading by Mayor O'Grady. <br />An ordinance to make and transfer appropriations for current expenses and other <br />expenditures for the City of North Olmsted for the year ending December 31, 2008. <br />Resolution No. 2008-99 was introduced and placed on first reading by Mayor O'Grady. <br />A resolution authorizing the Director of Public Service to solicit bids for the purchase of <br />eight thousand (8,000) tons of rock salt for ice and snow removal per specifications on <br />file in his office, and authorizing the Mayor to enter into a contract for said purchase <br />subject to approval by the Board of Control. <br />16 <br /> <br />
