Special Council Minutes of 1/29/2008 <br /> <br />Ordinance No. 2008-8 introduced by Mayor O'Grady was given its second reading. An <br />ordinance authorizing the Mayor of the City of North Olmsted to enter into a second <br />renewed two year agreement with Bob's Ice Cream, Inc., DBA Quality Quick Snacks, <br />providing for vending and video game machines at the North Olmsted Recreation Center, <br />and declaring an emergency. Councilman Mahoney moved for suspension of the rule <br />requiring three readings noting the legislation had been heard in committee. The motion <br />was seconded by Council Member Dailey Jones and passed unanimously. Councilman <br />Mahoney moved for adoption. The motion was seconded by Council Member Dailey <br />Jones and passed unanimously. Ordinance No. 2008-8 adopted. <br />Ordinance No. 2008-9 introduced by Mayor O'Grady was given its second reading. An <br />ordinance dispensing with a formal RFP process and authorizing the Mayor to enter into <br />a contract with ATS Engineering, Inc. to provide engineering design and other related <br />professional services to the City of North Olmsted in connection with proposed <br />improvements to the Wastewater Treatment Plant and collections system, and declaring <br />an emergency. <br />Resolution No. 2008-11 was introduced and placed on first reading by Mayor O'Grady. <br />A resolution authorizing the Director of Community Life Services to advertise for bids <br />for the repair and/or replacement of the filter for the outdoor pool at the Recreation <br />Center; authorizing the Mayor, following approval of the Board of Control, if necessary, <br />to contract for the same with the lowest and best bidder, and declaring an emergency. <br />Councilman Mahoney moved for suspension of the rules requiring three readings and <br />committee review and noted this had been discussed at the Recreation Commission <br />meeting on January 14. Bowen & Associates, <br />Inc., and Daniel J. Collins, City Engineer, to provide engineering consulting services <br />augmenting and assisting the city's Engineering Division, and declaring an emergency. <br />Councilman Gareau moved for suspension of the rules requiring three readings and <br />committee review. Resolution No. 2008-112 adopted. <br />Ordinance No. 2008-13 was introduced and placed on first reading by Mayor O'Grady. <br />An ordinance providing for the issuance and sale of $1,270,000 of notes, in anticipation <br />of the issuance of bonds, for the purpose of improving certain designated streets in the <br />city, in cooperation with the Director of Transportation of the State of Ohio and <br />Cuyahoga County and otherwise, by grading, draining, constructing, reconstructing and <br />rehabilitating the pavement base, curbs and sidewalks and adjusting, rehabilitating and <br />reconstructing catch basins, manholes and water valve boxes, where necessary, preparing <br />8 <br />
