Council Minutes of 5/19/2009 <br /> <br />Brossard, Barker, Jones, Gareau; the Law Director, Service Director, Safety Director, <br />Planning Director, and Animal Warden. Agenda items: <br />• Minotti's Beverage Store, at 26840 Brookpark Road ext., liquor permit transfer <br />from A Beverage Inc. to JJD .Beverage Inc., DBA World Wine & Liquor. The <br />committee voted 3-0 to recommend non-objection. Councilman Kearney moved <br />that Council not object to the liquor permit transfer from A Beverage Inc., DBA <br />Minotti's, 26840 Brookpark Road extension to JJD Beverage Inc., DBA World <br />Wine & Liquor, 26840 Brookpark Road extension. The motion was seconded by <br />Councilman Orlowski and passed unanimously. <br />• Liquor agency for JJD Beverage Inc. The committee voted 3-0 to recommend <br />non-objection. Councilman Kearney moved that Council not object to the liquor <br />agency for JJD Beverage Inc., DBA World Wine & Liquor, 26840 Brookpark <br />Road extension. The motion was seconded by Councilman Orlowski and passed <br />unanimously. <br />• Stock transfer for El Rodeo restaurant, located at 23135 Lorain Road. The <br />committee voted 3-0 to recommend non-objection. Councilman Kearney moved <br />that Council not object to the stock transfer for Dego Cleveland, DBA El Rodeo, <br />23135 Lorain Road & Patio. The motion was seconded by Councilman Orlowski <br />and passed unanimously. <br />• Ordinance 2009-58, an ordinance amending Section 505.15 of Chapter 505 of the <br />General Offenses Code entitled Animals and Fowl in order to prohibit the feeding <br />of wild animals in the city in any manner that creates nuisance conditions and <br />declaring an emergency. The city has recently received complaints of people <br />leaving feed on the ground level, which has been attracting large numbers of <br />ducks and Canadian geese and causing a nuisance. An amendment to the <br />legislation will raise the feeding level from 18 inches to 4 feet. The committee <br />voted 3-0 to recommend the legislation to Council. Councilman Kearney moved <br />to amend Ordinance 2009-58 by changing the words on page 3, Section 505.15 <br />(c) (1) "...container that is not at least 18 inches above the ground..." to read <br />"container that is not at least four feet above the ground..." The motion was <br />seconded by Councilman Orlowski and passed unanimously. Ordinance No. <br />2009-58 amended. <br />Councilman Mahoney, chairperson of the Recreation, Public Parks & Buildings <br />Committee. 1) Items reviewed by the committee were Resolutions 2009-45 and 2009-59: <br />• Resolution 2009-45 is a resolution authorizing the Mayor to enter into a renewed <br />one year contract with LK Heating & Cooling Inc. with a city option for an <br />additional one year term to perform maintenance service upon the heating and <br />cooling equipment at various city buildings and declaring an emergency. The <br />buildings at issue would be the City Hall, Old Town Hall, Community Cabin, <br />Senior Center, Service Garage, Service Dept. building, Police Dept., and Fire <br />Stations 1 and 2. The first reading was held on April 7, 2009 and the first of four <br />committee meetings held on April 20, 2009. All of Council and the committee <br />members were present.
