City Council Minutes of 3/17/2009 <br />infraction. The police activity will be concentrated in the mall azea and will take place <br />between May 18 and June 13 at no cost to the city. The committee voted 3-0 to <br />recommend approval of the legislation. <br />Councilman Brossard, chairperson of the Intra-Governmental Relations Committee: 1) <br />The committee met at 9 p.m. on March 10, 2009. Present were Council President <br />Kennedy and Council Members Brossazd, Bazker, Jones, Orlowski, Gazeau, Kearney, and <br />Mahoney; the Law Director, Service Director, and guests. The committee suspended the <br />vote for the Mayor's appointment of Barbara Brown to the Cultural Activities <br />Commission as her resume was not available. The committee nominated and <br />unanimously approved the re-appointments of Michael Gazeau, Sr. and George Nashaz as <br />Council appointments to the Charter Review Commission. The committee nominated <br />and unanimously approved the appointment of Jennifer Ontko as a Council appointment <br />to Charter Review Commission. Law Director Dubelko advised the committee as to the <br />correct processes of appointments and re-appointments to committees. Committee <br />member Gazeau was also advised by Mr. Dubelko that no conflict of interest exists if he <br />chooses to nominate his father for the Charter Review Commission. <br />2) The committee met at 7:25 p.m. this evening, March 17. The Mayor's appointment of <br />Bazbaza Brown to the Cultural Activities Commission was reviewed. The committee <br />unanimously voted to approve her appointment for the term of January 1, 2009 to <br />December 31, 2009. (President Kennedy inquired if Mr. Jerry Barrett had been discussed <br />as a Council appointment to the Charter Review Commission. Mr. Brossard said that was <br />correct, Mr. Barrett also had been unanimously approved by the committee at the March <br />10 committee meeting.) Councilman Brossard made a motion to approve Council's <br />appointments of Mrs. Ontko, Mr. Gareau Sr., Mr. Barrett and Mr. Nashaz to the Charter <br />Review Commission for the five-year term of January 1, 2009 through December 31, <br />2013. The motion was seconded by Councilman Gazeau and passed unanimously. <br />Councilman Brossard made a motion to approve the Mayor's appointment of Barbara <br />Brown to the Cultural Activities Commission for the term of January 1, 2009 through <br />December 31, 2009. The motion was seconded by Councilman Gazeau and passed <br />unanimously. <br />Mayor O'Grady said he wished to highlight some issues with regard to the "Click it or <br />Ticket" overtime project. This will not be on the property of the Westfield Great <br />Northern Shopping Plaza, but it is tazgeted toward those city streets around the mall. <br />Additionally, it will be part of a major state-wide information campaign encouraging <br />people to understand the importance of wearing their seatbelts. <br />LEGISLATION <br />Resolution No. 2009-28 introduced by Mayor O'Grady was given its second reading. A <br />resolution authorizing the Mayor to enter into an agreement with University Hospitals of <br />Cleveland that will provide for the North Olmsted Police Department to participate in the <br />Ohio Department of Public Safety "Click it or Ticket" overtime project, and declaring an <br />emergency. <br />6 <br /> <br />
