CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />ORDINANCE N0. 80-133 <br />PAGE 2. <br />Effective January 1, 1981 <br />Fire Chief <br />Captains <br />Fire Lieutenants <br />Fireman after Second Year <br />Fireman - Second Year <br />Fireman - First Year <br />Full-Time Fireman working for <br />City during off-duty hours: <br />$30,781.00 <br />24,764.00 <br />22,513.00 <br />20,466.00 <br />18,723.00 <br />15,011.00 <br />the <br />$4.25/hr. to $6. <br />Annually <br />Annually <br />Annually <br />Annually <br />Annually <br />Annually <br />25/hr. <br />which salaries shall be payable by the Director of Finance bi-weekly. <br />C. That the organization of the Fire Department shall consist of <br />not less than twenty (20) nor more than twenty-eight (28) sworn full-time <br />employees who are Certified Paramedics; and that effective September 1, <br />1980 and thereafter, any sworn full-time employee shall, while on duty <br />as a Certified Paramedic, be paid additional compensation at the rate <br />of $400.00 annually for all time spent as a Fireman/Paramedic, such <br />sompensation to be paid by the Director of Finance on December 15th of <br />each year. <br />D. One (1) of the above officers, other than the Chief, shall be <br />assigned to the Fire Prevention Bureau as Fire Prevention Officer/ <br />Inspector and shall be paid additional compensation at the rate of <br />$450.00 annually for all time spent while assigned to the Fire Prevention <br />Bureau. <br />E. That excluding secretarial and clerical employees, all full- <br />time employees of the Fire Department having completed five (5) years <br />of full-time continuous service with the City, shall be paid an <br />additional four percent (4~) of their base annual salary; thereafter <br />until completion of the tenth (10th) year of continuous full-time <br />service, after which such employee shall receive five percent (5%) of <br />their base annual salary, thereafter until the completion of the <br />fifteenth (15th) year of continuous full-time service; and thereafter <br />six percent (60) of their base annual salary until the completion of <br />the twentieth (20th) year of continuous full-time service; and during <br />each year of full-time service thereafter they shall receive seven <br />percent (70) of their base annual salary as longevity increments. <br />F. In computing length of service for the purpose of making <br />payments of longevity increments hereinabove set forth, no credit shall <br />be given for part-time service, but such limitation is only for the <br />purpose of computing longevity increments and the exclusion for part- <br />time service shall not deprive any employee of any other benefits which <br />may be due for part-time service as employees in the Safety Department. <br />G. In addition to the regular base salary plus increments and <br />other wage increases, all regular employees of the Fire Department, <br />including officers, shall on their original appointment and during the <br />first calendar year of their appointment, receive Three }hundred and Fifty <br />Dollars ($350.00) clothing allowance, and shall during each calendar <br />year thereafter receive a clothing allowance of Three ~~undred Seventy- <br />Five Dollars ($375.00). Said allowance shall be controlled by the Chief, <br />however, any employee may purchase regulation clothing and be reimbursed <br />upon presentation of a satisfactory receipt. <br />H. That all full-time employees of the North Olmsted Fire Department <br />excluding secretarial and clerical help, shall be entitled to certain <br />holidays during the year and shall not be required to work on these <br />holidays unless scheduled to work by the Fire Chief. In the event the <br />employee either works or was not scheduled to work for reasons other <br />than holiday leave on one of the following holidays, then the employee <br />shall receive another day off from work to replace the holiday he worked, <br />or was not required to work for reasons other than holiday leave.
