CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />ORDINANCE N0. 80-133 <br />PAGE 3. <br />scheduled holidays are as follows: New Year's Day; President's Day; <br />Memorial Day; Independence Day; Labor Day; Thanksgiving Day; Christmas <br />Day; Veteran's Day; the employee's birthday; and the employee's personal <br />use day. <br />I. That all full-time employees of the Fire Department shall be <br />entitled to an annual vacation in accordance with the following schedule: <br />1 to 5 years inclusive of full-time service - two (2) weeks <br />6 to 11 years inclusive of full-time service - three (3) weeks <br />12 to 19 years inclusive of full-time service - four (4) weeks <br />20 years and over of full-time service - five (5) weeks <br />For the purpose of a vacation week, <br />consecutive days off. The regular work schedule for Fire Prevention personnel <br />shall consist of five (5) consecutive eight (8) hour <br />days, Monday through Friday. Firefighting platoon <br />personnel shall have an average of fifty-six (56) hour <br />duty week consisting of twenty-four (24) hour shifts on <br />a three (3) platoon basis. <br />2. Normal hours for employees working a forty (40) hour <br />week shall be from 8:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. These <br />schedules are subject to adjustment by the Chief. <br />3. Any time worked in excess of eight (8) hours a day and <br />any time worked in excess of forty (40) hours a week, or in <br />the case of firefighting platoon personnel, any time worked <br />in excess of twenty-.four (24) hours in a seventy-two (72) <br />hour period shall be considered overtime. All employees, <br />except the Chief of the Department, shall be compensated for <br />authorized overtime work at a rate of time and one-half of <br />the regular rate of pay calculated by dividing yearly salary <br />by 2080 hours. The Chief will be the determining authority <br />on the necessity for overtime. When compensatory time is <br />desired, the employee will determine, subject to the <br />approval of the Chief, when time will be taken. The minimum <br />time to callback shall be for two (2) hours. <br />4. Compensatory time cannot be transferred from one employee <br />to another employee. <br />K. In the event that a member of the Fire Department of the City of <br />North Olmsted should be injured while in the line of duty due to a sudden <br />and accidental occurrence and such injury has so incapacitated said <br />member of the Fire Department that he is temporarily unable to work, <br />then the Director of Public Safety, after determining that said injury <br />is work related and is of a temporary nature, may authorize full payment <br />of the employee's regular salary for a period of not more than ninety <br />(90) days. If after said ninety (90) day period, said employee is still <br />temporarily incapacitated, then the Director of Public Safety shall <br />
