CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED ORDINANCE N0. $0-55 PAGE 4. 1221.05 Permitted Signs - Signs in Residential Districts an House Trailer Districts Signs in any Residential Districts shall conform to the regula- tions as set forth in this Section, and the following types of signs shall be permitted: (A) One nameplate not exceeding one square foot in total area s -all he .permitted for each. dwelling unit of a one--family or two-family dwelling and may be located not less than ten feet (10') from any lot line of the premises. Illuminating shall be permitted. Such name- plates shall not be permitted for dwellings of three or more units. (B) One bulletin board or announcement sign not exceeding twenty- ive 25 square feet in area and not exceeding six feet (6') in height shall be permitted on the premises- of a public or semi.-public institution. In addition, temporary signs may be permitted for special events provided they are removed as required by Section 1221.02. (C) Real estate signs 1. One "For Sale" or "To Rent" sign as a temporary sign not exce~ing four 4 square feet in total area or three feet (3') in height shall be permitted for each dwelling or lot. Such. sign shall be located not less than fifteen feet (15') from the front or any side lot line. Signs indicating a room or rooms for rent shall not be permitted. 2. A s'ubdivi ion development sign shall not exceed fifty (_50 square eet In total area. The owner may erect two (_2) of such signs in which case the total area of the two signs shall not exceed one hundred (_100) square feet. Should the owner elect to erect two (2) signs, said signs shall not be closer than two h~zndred feet (:.200') from each other. No more than two (2) subdivision signs shall b.e erected within one (1) subdivision. No subdivision sign shall be located within one hundred feet (100') from any occupied residence and shall be on premises within the subdivision being developed and within five hundred feet (-500') of the actual ongoing development. A model house sign not exceeding eight (8) square feet in area shall be permitted on the same lot as the residence being displayed as a model. Permits for a subdivision sign or signs shall be for a period not to exceed one (1) year and may be renewed only if construction at the date of renewal is being pursued diligently. 3. Development signs of permanent construction indicating name, owner, or manager shall be permitted if not exceed- ing twenty-five (25) square feet on one (1) face and a maximum of fifty (50) square feet in total area for e~.Eh development and not exceeding five (5') in height.
