<br />CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />ORDINANCE N0. 80- 55 <br />PAGE 5. <br />1221.06 Signs in Retail Business Districts <br />Signs in Retail Business Districts shall be accessory to a <br />building or use permitted and conform with the regulations set forth <br />in this Section: <br />(A) Roof signs, attractive devices, temporary, mobile and portable <br />signs are not a permitted use in the Retail Business District <br />except as otherwise provided, but the following type of signs <br />shall be permitted: <br />1. Business signs, if the sign is located on the same <br />lot as t e usiness or service to which it is directed. <br />2. Directional si ns may be located on any lot ~n a retail <br />business~'istrict. <br />3. Nameplates and bulletin boards, if accessory to a <br />residential or institutional uilding or use, as <br />regulated in Section 1221.05. <br />4. Nameplates for offices, if the sign is located on the <br />same lot as tTie pro a sion or service to which it is <br />directed. <br />S. Real estate and develo ment signs, if the sign is <br />ocate on t e same of to w is attention is directed. <br />(B) The following types of signs as to design shall be permitted: <br />1. Flat and wall sins, if attached to, painted on, or <br />integral wit a wall, or attached to the windows or <br />doors of a building occupied by a permitted business <br />or service. <br />2. Ground si ns, only one (1) ground sign is permitted per lot <br />an it must be located on the same lot as the business, <br />businesses, group of businesses, service buildings, parking <br />lots, or other uses to which it directs attention. <br />3. Marquee signs,, if located on the same lot as the business <br />or service wilding, parking or other use to which it <br />directs attention. <br />4. Pole signs, only one (1) pole sign is permitted per lot and <br />it must be located on the same lot as the business, businesses, <br />group of businesses, service buildings, parking lots, or <br />other uses to which it directs attention. <br />S. Projectin si ns, if projecting from a building occupied <br />by a permute usiness or service. <br />(C) The Building Department is directed to allocate the total <br />allowable sign space for a building among the individual <br />units as follows: maximum square footage allowed divided <br />by total building frontage resulting in the square footage <br />allowed per frontage foot of each building tenant. <br />(D) The total surface area (including all sides utilized as <br />signs) of all permanent signs for each office, store or <br />• service building, parking lot or other land use shall not <br />exceed the number of square feet indicated in the following <br />table: <br />
