Tem orary development signs, announcing a proposed <br />bui~3ing, a Tui~ding under construction or advertising <br />the sale, rental or lease of a building, or part <br />thereof, shall be located on the lot occupied by the <br />building or use advertised and shall not exceed forty <br />(40) square feet in total area for each street frontage. <br />Permanent signs, indicating name, owner or manager shall <br />be permitted; size and design, however, shall first have <br />to be approved by the Building Official. <br />(F) Signs in business districts may be located on the surface <br />of, or project from, the building wall adjacent to a <br />street, a pedestrian way or adjacent to a parking area, <br />or erected on poles or other ground supports in yards as <br />herein regulated. The maximum dimensions set forth shall <br />include the structural members unless otherwise indicated. <br />1. Flaf or wall signs, shall not project more than <br />eig teen lnc es 18") in front of the building wall <br />and not project beyond any building corner. A sign <br />may extend above the top of the front wall but not <br />more than twenty percent (200) of its total height may <br />be extended above the wall, provided further that the <br />sign is setback from each side lot line and party wall <br />line at least equal to the dimensions that the sign <br />projects above the top of the wall. <br />2. Ground si ns, shall not be located closer than seven <br />eet _ rom the front property line and shall not <br />be closer than five feet (5') from another business lot, <br />nor shall a ground sign be closer than five feet (5') <br />from a driveway and not closer than twenty-five feet <br />(25') from a Residential District line and shall not <br />exceed ten feet (10') in height. The maximum size of <br />one (1) face of any ground sign shall-not exceed forty <br />(40) square feet. Supporting columns and structural <br />trim of round, square shaped configurations may be <br />used, but in the event the cross sectional area of <br />such supports or trim exceed twenty-five percent (25%) <br />of the sign face, the sign face must be reduced in size <br />by the amount in excess. <br />3. Marquee signs, may extend above the fascia, however, <br />tie vertical dimension of such sign, including fascia, <br />shall not exceed four feet (4'). <br />4. Pole signs, shall not be less than three feet (3') from <br />a~~ic way and the support for the sign shall not be <br />located less than three feet (3') from the public right- <br />of-way. The maximum size of one face of any pole sign <br />shall not exceed fifty (50) square feet and be mounted <br />on a pole not to exceed one foot (1') in diameter. <br />Supporting columns and structural trim of round, square <br />shaped configurations may be used, but in the event the <br />cross sectional area of such supports or trim exceed <br />twenty-five percent (25%) of the sign face, the sign <br />face must be reduced in size by the amount in excess. <br />S. Projectin si ns, shall be limited to not more than <br />.one 1 sign or each establishment or store unit. <br />Such signs shall be attached to the wall and ma~ project <br />at an angle of not less than ninety degrees (90 ) there- <br />from over a public way, and may extend above the top of <br />the wall, but not more than thirty-five percent (35~) <br />of the total height of the ,sign may extend above the <br />wall. Any face of a projecting sign shall be not less <br />" than five feet (5') from a side lot line or party wall <br />of another store unit. <br />
