_ ~_ ~~ <br />CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />ORDINANCE N0. 80-55 <br />PAGE 8. <br />(G) The height of the lowest member of any sign which is <br />not integral with a wall surface shall not be less than <br />eight and one-half feet (8?') above a sidewalk or other <br />pedestrian walkway and not less than fourteen feet (14') <br />if over or within eighteen inches (18") of the vertical <br />projection of a pavement used for vehicular traffic. The <br />maximum height of such sign shall not exceed twenty-five <br />feet (25'). <br />(H) Notwithstanding, the foregoing provisions of this Section <br />1221.06, in a General Retail Business District where a <br />building used for business purposes and having a floor <br />area of 100,000 square feet or more has a facade or facades <br />which face a parking area and/or one or more other buildings <br />used for business purposes and which are located at least <br />one hundred feet (100') distant from all dedicated streets <br />and all areas contained in a Residential District, then <br />there shall be permitted on each such facade (including, <br />in addition to the principal exterior wall or walls of <br />such facade, any parapet wall, or penthouse wall comprising <br />a part thereof), permanent signs having a total area equal <br />to six percent (6%) or less of the area of such facade <br />(.including, in addition to the principal exterior wall or <br />walls of such facade, any parapet wall, or penthouse wall <br />comprising a part thereof), but no sign installed or main- <br />tained pursuant to the provisions of this paragraph (H) <br />shall extend above the wall on which it is placed. <br />1221.07 Sins in Limited Industry Districts <br />Signs in Limited Industry Districts shall be accessory to a <br />building or use permitted and shall conform with the regulations <br />set forth. in this Section. <br />(A) The following type of signs as to content shall be <br />permitted: <br />1. Real Estate and Development Signs, as regulated <br />In Section 1221.06. <br />2. Directional Signs. <br />3. Industrial Signs, provided the sign is located <br />on t e same lot as the establishment or use to <br />which it is directed. <br />(B) The following types of signs as to design shall be <br />permitted: <br />1. Flat and Wa11 Signs, Projecting Signs, and Pole Signs, <br />as regulate in Section 12 I. 6. <br />2. Ground Signs, if located on the same lot as the <br />uil ing or use to which it directs attention. <br />3. Temporary Limited Industry Signs. In the event of a <br />new uslness or use, a lat or wall sign not exceeding <br />forty (40)square feet in size, may be attached to the <br />building for a period of time not more than thirty (30) <br />days beyond the installation of its permanent signs, or <br />ninety (90) days maximum, whichever occurs first. <br />Written approval must .first be obtained from the <br />Building Official. <br />
