(a) to fill a vacancy caused by an employee being on sick leave or other approved <br />leave of absence; <br />(b) to provide vacation relief scheduling; <br />(c) to fill an opening temporarily pending permanent filling of such opening; <br />(d) to meet an emergency situation; <br />(e) to meet changes in the work load; and <br />(f) to accommodate the presence of summer employees. <br />20.02 Temporary transfers shall be assigned to the least senior employee within the <br />classification needed. This pertains only to temporary transfers between Divisions, i.e., Fleet <br />Maintenance, Wastewater Treatment Plant. <br />ARTICLE 21 VACATIONS <br />21.01 Regular full-time employees hired prior to July 1, 1995 shall be granted vacation leave <br />with full pay as provided below. However, vacation carry-over is limited as set forth in Section <br />21.02 below. Pay in lieu of vacation is limited to conditions as set forth. <br />One through four years - 2 calendar weeks <br />Five through nine years - 3 calendar weeks <br />Ten through fourteen years - 4 calendar weeks <br />Fifteen tluough twenty years - 5 calendar weeks <br />Twenty one years tluough infinity - 6 calendar weeks <br />21.02 An employee shall become eligible for vacation leave on his amliversary date aid <br />vacation leave shall be taken by the employee within twelve (12) months thereafter. However, so <br />long as an employee uses at least five (5) uninterrupted days of vacation each year, the employee <br />shall be permitted with prior approval to carry over or to sell back any amount of vacation which <br />does not exceed the amount earned in the prior year. Employees shall have an option to use up <br />to one week of accumulated vacation time in '/~ day increments. <br />21.03 If an employee is terminated (voluntarily or involuntarily) prior to taking his vacation and <br />has completed one (1) year of employment with the Employer, he shall receive the prorated <br />portion of any accrued but unused vacation at the time of separation. In case of death of an <br />employee, the unused vacation leave shall be paid to the estate. <br />(a) If a day recognized as a holiday b}~ the terms of this Agreement falls within an <br />Employee's vacation leave, the employee shall not be credited with a vacation <br />day, and will be paid for the holiday at the straight time rate. <br />17 <br />
