AIl awards of the arbitrator and ali pre-arbitration grievance settiements reached by <br />the Unian and the City shall be final, binding, and conciusive on the City, the Union, and the <br />empioyees. A grievance rnay be withdrawn without prejudice by the Union at any time during <br />Steps 1, 2, 3 or 4 of the Grievance Procedure. A(I monies agreed ta be tiue on a pre-arbitratian <br />settiement or following an arbitration award shall be paid to the empioyee on the payday far the <br />pay period foliowing the date of the agreement as to the exact amount owed. Such sum shail be <br />issued in a separate payro(l check. <br />Section 5. No grisvance wiil be processed unless it is filed within the fime (imit estabiished for <br />fiiling grievances. lf a grievance is not -appeaied by the Union to the nexE higher step within the <br />time (imifis estabfished in the grievance procedure, the grievance will be deerned to he settled <br />on the basis of the City's fast answer. If the City fails to answer a grievance within the time <br />fimits, the grievance wi(I automaficaliy be appealed to the third sfep in the grievance procedure. <br />Secfiian 6. Section B. A po(icy grievance is defined to mean a grievance in which a controversy has been <br />raised, the nature afi which, if not resoived will affect the enfire bargaining unit or members <br />within the bargaining unit who haue a commonaiity of inferest in the oufcome of the grievance. <br />Such policy grievance shall be filsd wifhin the time consfraints estabfished in Section 2, Step 1, <br />of this Article, and shall be heard on a Step 3 level of the grievance procedure. <br />8
