An employee shall be granted a feave of absence for mifitary duty under the terms <br />and condifions provided in appficable sfate and federal law. <br />ARTICLE 13 - UNP'A1D SiCK LEAVE <br />Section 't. A regular full-time employee who has completed Mis probafionary period and who <br />has exhausted his sick leave shall be granted a leave of absence without pay for a periad not to <br />exceed six (6) months for a continuing disabifity which is substanfiated by credib(e medical <br />evidence. ifi the illness or disabi(ity continues beyond six (6) months, an additional six months' <br />sick leave may be requested. Employees must submit praof acceptable to the City of his abilify <br />to perform th.e wark of his job upon the termination of the sick leave. Any dispute as to the <br />abifity of an empioyee to pertorm fhe work of the job shall be defermined pursuant to fhe <br />medical examinafion procedure in Arficie 96, Section 3. <br />a.RTIGLE 14 - UNION LEAVE <br />Section 1. Upon written request from the Union, a leave of absence without pay sha(i be <br />granted fio not more than three (3) smpioyees for a period of not in excess af ten (10) cfays per <br />year each (fifteen (15) days per year in which an employee attends the Convention af the <br />International Union), for fine purpQSe of attending Union convenfions or ather Union activities <br />which necessitate a suspension of active employment. Addifional absences for Union business <br />may be permifted as conditions permif, having in mind the volume of work. <br />15
