The employer has fhe right to negotiate co- <br />payment and prescription drug rates wifh providers to lower the cost to the employer as we(I as the <br />empfoyee contribufion. <br />Section 2. Effective July 1, 2001, through the durafion of fhis ag.reement, ful!-time employee(s) <br />participating within either an individual or family p{an shall contribute an amount equal to thirteen (13%) <br />percent of the plan premium ar expected cost of such medical pfan and fhe empfoyer shall contribute <br />eighty seven (87°/n) percent of such cost. The empioyee contribution shall be withheld via payroll <br />deducfion not later fhan the first pay period each month. 5ection 3. Expected cost or premium is der"ined as the cost of all meciical, hospital, prescription drug and <br />related fees, including but not iirnited to, administration fees. <br />Section 4. The employer reserves the right to establish afi pians, enrollment periods and regulafions. <br />Section 5. The employer shafl make an eamest effort to estabfish a comrnittee consisting of one (1) <br />representative fram each of the City bargaining units, if fhey choose fio be represented and a minimum of <br />one (9) representafive of the empioyer. The bargaining units' role as a participanf in the <br />afQrementioned committee shall be advisory. <br />Section 6. All changes affecting the plan's coverage's co-payment, deducfibies, providers enrollment <br />periods and regulafions will be shared with the bargaining unit prior to making such changes. <br />Secfion 7. It is further agreed that if any bargaining unit employed by the City of North Olmsted, in <br />negotiations heid subsequenf to this agreement and fior the same time period covered under this <br />agreement, negotiates to conclusion a lower percentage af employee contribution to Heaith Insurance <br />Plan, the lovver percentage shall apply to the unit covered under this agreement. Said lower peresntage <br />shall commence under-this agreement at the time that it is agreed upon by another unit, and shall confinue <br />for the remaining years covered under this agreement. <br />SectEOn 8. The City wil! offer the Option 1 Pfan 'rn efFect an July 'f, 2001, for the duration of the contract. <br />Employees' participation in the Opfion 1 Plan is stricfly valuntary to ali eligible employees. The City shall <br />offer enrollment in the Option 1 Plan for thirty (30) days, each December of fhe contract. Employees who <br />opf for fhis opticn sha11 be required to coi-itribute an amount equal to fwo (2) percent of the plan premiurn <br />25
