The City wili provide a pretax program for the Employees' contribution to health insurance <br />effective 1/1/99. <br />ARTiCLE 26 - JEJRY aR WfTNESS PAY <br />Section 4. An empfoyee called for jury duty shaN be gr.anted a leave of absence for the period of jury <br />service and will be compensated at full pay Tor absences necessarily caus.ed by the jury duty. An <br />employee who is required ta be absent from scheduled work to serve as a witness on a City reiated issue <br />wii( be paid for time lost from scheduled straight tirne work. An empioyee who is caifed as a witness due to <br />his parf-fime empfoyment.in the area of pubiic 1aw enforcement with the city of North 0(msfed shall receive <br />his regular rate of pay from the City. <br />ARTICLE 27 - SAFETY AND HEALTH <br />Sec$ion 1. The City and the Union recognize fhat each pariy must comp(y with the applicable <br />state and r'ederal laws wifh respect to safety and healfh. The City shalf continue fo make rsasonable <br />provisions for the safety and healfh of ifs employees. <br />A. Required persanal protecfive ea,uipment shall be issued ta regufar fufl-time employees and shali <br />be replaced if the equipment is worn aut and is returned to the City for repfacement. <br />An employee who does not return the equipmenf will be charged for the replacement cost, except <br />in cases, <br />(1) In which the equipment was destroyed by accidenfal condifions beyond the empioyee's <br />control in the work area, or; <br />(2) ff the equipment, nas been stolen and the City has fai(ed to supply the empioyee with a <br />26
