A safety committee consisfing of two (2) representatives from management and two (2) safety <br />representatives appointed by the local union may confer as necessary for the purpase of <br />attempting to maintain safe working conditions. <br />SectiQn 2. In fhe evenf an empioyee reasonabiy be(ieves that a situation is unsafe, fhe empfoyee shall <br />notify his supervisor immediafe(y, the supervisor shall investigate the situation on the same day or as soon <br />as passibie thereafter, and take such steps as are necessary to remedy the unsafe condition. <br />ln the event the employse has notified his supervisor of the unsafe condifion, the employee shall <br />not be required to perform the work untii it has been determined to be safe. However, the empioyee may <br />be assigned to a{ternafive duties untii such time as an invesfigation is compieted. <br />Section 3. The City will provide and maintain safe vehicfes for all employees required to use vehicles for <br />their assigned dufies. The vehicle status, whether safe or unsafe, will be determined by the Service <br />Director or his designee. <br />Section 4. EmpEoyees shall be required to keep fhe interior of vehicles clean and cfear af objects such as: <br />tools, iunch wrappers, cans, and botties. Debris such as: lunch wrappers, cans and botties shall be <br />removed and properly disposed of by the end of each shift. <br />Sec#ion 5. Empfayees involved in an accidenf involving a Gity vehicle, equipment or ofher property shall <br />notify their supervisor as soon as possible. The employee. shafl complete a pofice report and all other <br />report forms required by the employer. <br />Sectian 6. There shall be a Labor Management Committee estabfished, consisting of three (3) persons <br />frorri the union and three (3) persons from management. fUeetings wifl be held quarterly ar as needed by <br />mutual agreement of the parties to pramote a drug free workplace and/ar other subjects of mutuai interest <br />to the parties. Meetings shall be heid during the last thirty (30) minutes of fhe shift, <br />Section 7. The City will provide to all bargaining unit employees a Hepatitis B Shot Rrogram if it is <br />requested. <br />27
