ARTiCLE 28 - DlSABLED EMPLQYEE <br />5ecfion 1. The City and the Union shall attempt through agreement to place parf'ial(y disabled empioyees <br />on light-work jobs which are availabie or become available during the term of their disability, and which <br />they are quaiified to perform. <br />Secfian 2. The City wili require that any employee who is disabled ofF the jab, and is absent from wor.k <br />(sick time or leave of absence) foc a period in excess of 3 days will be required to submit a City furnished <br />Return to Vi/ork Form. An empfoyee injured on the job. shalf provide a City fumished Refurn to Work Form, <br />prior to returning to work. fn Iieu of a City furnished Return to Work Form, an empioyee may provide any <br />similar form, or attending physician's written statement, which specifies either the abifity to return to work <br />"without limitations" or" iimitations" exist from date to date. <br />Section 3. Once a disabled empioyee has exhausted his sick leave benefits, fhe City will continue to pay <br />its portion of his paid hospitafizafion for 90 days. <br />Section 4. An empfoyee who has received workers' compensation temporary tatal benefits rnay Use these <br />benefiis to buy hack a portion of the paid sick (eave fime he has expended while on disability leave. <br />?RTICLE 29 - NO STRIKES <br />Section 1. Neither the Unian nor any employee or empioyees wiil either insfigate, promate, sponso.r, <br />engage, or participafe in, or condone any strike or work slow down. Any emp(oyee who parficipates in, <br />advances, leads or promotes a strike or work slow down shali be subject to discipfinary acfion up ta and <br />including discharge. <br />Section 2. fn the event that any breach of the No-Sfirike or Work Slow Down clause in Section 1 above <br />occurs, the Union's officers shall pub(icfy declare that the strike or work slow down is unauthorized, shatl <br />promptiy make reasonable, earnest efforts to bring about a prompt fiermina#ion of the strike or work slow <br />down, and shalf continue such efforts until the employees refurn to work. Section 3.
