In the event of death of any other relative not fisted above an employee shall use his <br />accurnulated sick feave. <br />ARTICLE 43 - COIViNiERClAL C1RfVER'S LfCEhlSE <br />Section 'I. Employees in cfassificafions which required a commercial driver's ficense (CDL) as of July <br />18,1992 shall be required to maintain a CDL. Empioyees transferring into or promoting into these <br />classifications shall have ninety (90) days to obtain a CDL. <br />Section 2. The employer shall pay the cost af the commercial driver's license, any endorsements to that <br />ficanse, and any testing necessary to obtain it for all new empiayees required to obfain the ficense to <br />perform their duties, and all employees pramoted to such positiors. The employer's obligation shall be <br />iimited to the first test an employee takes, and the Empioyer shall reimburse Employees the cast of the <br />CDL, renewals and endorsernents. The City agrees io pay the cost to renew ali licenses. <br />Section 3. fn the event that an employee ioses his CDL or is not successful in passing the CDL exam, the <br />empioyer shall place the empfoyee into another avai(able job he is capabfe af performing at his regular <br />rate of pay, provided if fafls within the new job's wage schedule, or at the.top af the new.job's wage <br />schsdule if his regufar rate of pay does not fall within the new job's wage schedule. Such piacement shall <br />supersede lateral transfers, the posting procedure, and work week or shift preference transfers. <br />Sect6an 4. Ef na job is availabie, the employee shall be laid off until such time as a job is available ar until <br />such fime as he obfains his CDL, whichever is sooner. Upan obtaining his CDL, the amployee shall be <br />returned to his previous job. <br />Sectian 5. Employses required ta take fhe driving portion of CDL exam shall be permitted to use a City <br />vehicie for that exam. <br />Sectian 6. All empioyees who have a Class A CDL will receive an additionaf thirty-five ($.35) cents per <br />hour for all hours worked. <br />34
