Whenever a bargaining unit or non-bargaining unit employee is aut more than <br />four or more hours and is repfaced by temporary transfer, any employee repiacing fhe missing <br />employee shall be paid the higher of his/her own rate of pay or the missing employee's rate of <br />pay for a!I time worked in that transfer. Such transfers shall not exceed thirty (30) days un(ess <br />mutualiy agreed between the City and the Union. <br />ARTICLE 15- VACATIONS <br />Section 1, Regular full-time empioyees hired prior to July 1,1995 shall be granted vacation <br />leave with full pay as provided below. However, vacation carry-over is iimited as set forth in <br />Section 2 below. Pay in lieu of vacation is fimited to conditions as set forth. <br />One thraugh four years - <br />Five through nine years - <br />Ten through fourfieen years - <br />Fifteen thraugh twenty years - <br />Twenty-one years through infinity - <br />2 calendar weeks <br />3 calendar weeks <br />4 calendar weeks <br />5 calendar weeks <br />6 calendar weeks <br />Section 2.An employee shaii become eligible for vacation leave on his anniversary date <br />and vacafion leave shall be taken by the employee within twelve (12) months thereafter. <br />However, so long as an employee uses at least five (5) uninterrupted days of vacation each <br />year, fhe employee shall be permitted with prior approval to carry over or to sell baek any <br />amount af vacation which does not exceed the amount earned in the prior year. <br />Section 3. If an empioyee is terminated (voluntarily or involu.ntarily) prior to taking his vacation <br />and has comp(eted one (1) year of employment with the City, he shall receive the prorated <br />portion of any accrued but unused vacation af the time of separafion. In case of death of an <br />employee, the unused vacation feave shall be paid to the estate. <br />(a) if a day recognized as a holiday by the terms of fhis Agreement falis within an employee's vacation <br />leave, the employee shall nof be credited wifh a vacation day, and wiil be paid for the holiday at the <br />straight time rate. <br />22
