Section 2. Effective July 1, 2001 fhrough the durafion af this agreement, fui!-time <br />employee(s) participating within either an individual or family plan shall contribute an amount <br />equal to thirEeen (13%) percent of the plan premium or expected cos# of such medicai plan <br />and the employer shall contribute eighty-seven (87%) percent of such cost. The employee <br />contribution shall be withheld via payro(I deduction not later than the first pay period each <br />month. <br />Section 3. Expected cost or premium is defined as the cost of all medical; hospitaf. <br />prescription drug and related fees including but nof limited to administration fees. <br />Section 4. The employer reserves the right to establish a{l plans, enroliment periods and <br />regulations. <br />Section 5. The employer shall make . an earnest effort to estab(ish a committee <br />consisting of one (1) representafive from each of the City bargaining units, if they chose to be <br />represented and a minimum of one (1) representafive of the employer, The bargaining units <br />role as a participant in the aforemenfioned committee shall be advisory only. <br />Secfion 6, A(l changes affecting the plan coverage's ca-payments, deductibles, providers <br />enrollment periods and regulations will be shared with the bargaining unit prior to making such <br />changes. <br />Section 7. It is further agreed that if any bargaining unit employed by the City of North <br />OlmSted, in negatiations heid subsequent to fhis Agreement and for the same time period <br />covered under this Agreement, negotiates to conclusion a lower percentage of employee <br />contribution to the Health Insurance P1an; that lower percentage shali appiy to the unit covered <br />under this Agreement. Said lower percentage shafl cammence under this Agreement at the <br />time that it is agreed upon by another unit, and shali continue for the remaining years covered <br />under this Agreement. <br />Section 8. The City will offer the Optian 1 plan in effecf on Jufy 1, 2001 for the <br />durafiion of the contract. Empfoyees' participafion in the Option I pfan is strictl <br />Y <br />voluntary to all elig'rbie empiayees. The City shall offer enroilment in the O p t i o n 1 p l a n <br />for thirty (30) days, each Qecember of the contract. Emp{ayees who opt for this option <br />26
