JOB DESCRIPTION: <br />POSITION TITLE: <br />RESPONSIBLE TO <br />HEATING, VENTILATING & AIR <br />CONDITIONING INSPECTOR <br />BUILDING COMMISSIONER <br />MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS; <br />1. Minirnum Education - High School orequivalent. <br />2. Minimum six (6) years experience in commercial and residenfiai heating instailation, <br />3. Apprentice heating School or Engineering studies background relafing to HVAC <br />4. Must be able to read pians and specificafions. <br />5. Must be able to deal tacffully and effectively with the pubfic. <br />6. Must have a thorough knowledge or be prepared to become acquainfed with the City of North <br />Olmsted's heating, venfilating, and other accepted pracfices. <br />DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES, <br />2 <br />3 <br />4 <br />5 <br />6 <br />7 <br />8 <br />9 <br />Review plans and specifications. Authorizes the issuance of permits for HVAC installations. <br />Makes field inspections to determine if HVAC installation meets code requirements, and is built <br />according to plan. <br />Evaluafes heating applicafions submitted for permit to determine if the system wilf hea# ar cool for <br />structure as intended. . <br />Determines that the air handling equipment has the proper approvais. <br />Enforces the National Model Energy Code and the City of North Olmsted Insulafion Code. <br />Make field inspections of each installation at various stages of compietion, <br />Keeps records of all permits and inspections made. <br />Perfiorms related work as assigned by the Building Commissioner. <br />Other duties as assigned. <br />70
