' <br />Specifcations Bidder <br />Compiies <br /> Y"es No <br />of the engine. <br />C) The service brakes shall becapable of stopping a fully loaded vehicle in 35 feet at 20 <br />mph on a level concrete highway. The air brake system shall confoi-m to Federal Motor <br />Vehicle Safety Standards (FMVSS) 121. <br />Dj The apparatus, fully loaded, shal] be capable of obtaining a speed of 50 mph on a <br />level concrete highway with the enaine not exceeding its govei-ned rpm (full load). <br />FAILURE TO MEET TES'F <br />In the event the apparatus fails to meet the test requirements of these specifications on the first <br />trial, second trials may be made at the option of the bidder witliin 30 days of the date of the <br />first trial. Such trials shall be final and conclusive and failure to comply with these <br />? requirements shall be cause for rejection. Faiiure to comply with changes to confonn to anv I <br />clause of the specifications, wifhin 30 days after notice is given to the bidder of sucb chanaes, ' <br />? <br />shall also be cause for rejection of the apparatus. Permission to keep or store the apparatus ii1 <br />any building owned or occupied by the purchaser or its use by the purchaser dunng the above- ? <br />specified period with the pern7ission of the bidder shall not constitute acceptance. <br />LIASILITY <br />? The successful bidder shall defend any and all suits and assume alI liability for the use of anv <br />patented process inciuding any device or article forminLy a pas-t of the apparatus or anv <br />appliance fumished under the contract. <br />SPECIFICATION BID REQUIREMENTS <br />Bidders shall also indicate in the "yes!no" column if their bid complies on each item <br />(PARAGRAPH) specified. Exceptions sha1l be allowed if the_y are equal to or superior to that <br />specified and provided they are listed and fully explained on a separate paye. <br />Proposals taking total exception to specifications shalt be rejected. <br />Also, bidders shall submit a detailed proposal. A letter oi11y, even though written on a <br />company letterhead, shall not be sufficient. Bid proposals shall be submitted in the same <br />sequence as specifications for ease of evaluation, comparison and checking of compliance. <br />An exception to these requirements shall not be tolerated. <br />EXCEPTIONS <br />These apparatus specifications are considered minimum design and construction standards <br />against which the apparatus vN,ill be inspected. It is the intent of the Purchaser to receive <br />proposals on equipment/apparatus meetinc, the detailed specifications in their entirety. <br />.4ny proposal bein¢ submitted without "Full Compliance" shall so state on the bid proposal <br />page followed by a detailed "Letter of Exceptions" listing the areas of non-compliance.
