Specifications <br />- One (1) vertical handrail, not less than 29.00" Iong, shall be located on each rear beavertail. <br />- One (1) full width horizontal handrail shall be provided below the hose bed at the rear of the <br />apparatus. <br />4IR BOTTLE STORAGE (Single bottIe) <br />A total of four (4) air bottle compartments shall be provided. Located for and aft of the rear <br />axle both sides. The air bottle compartment shall be in the foizn of a round tube (7.63" <br />diameter minimuzn) and of adequate depth to accommodate different size air bottles. Floorin¢ <br />shall be rubber Iined and 11ave a drain hole. A stainless steel door with a chrome plated latch ? <br />shall be provided to contain the air bottle. A dielectric barrier shall be provided between the <br />door hinge, hin?e fasteners and the body sheet metal. <br />GROUND LADDERS <br />The following Duo-Safety ladders shall be furnished and must meet or exceed the latest <br />NFPA standards: <br />two (?) section; aluminum, Series 900-A <br />- 14' roof, aluminuin, Series 775-A <br />LADDER STORAGE <br />The ladders shall be stored between the water tank and the passen?er's side compartments. <br />The ladders sha11 extend into the pump compartment just to the rear of fhe water pump <br />dischar2es. <br />The ladders sha11 be as completely enclosed by sheet metal as practical to prevent road dirt <br />from entering the ladder storaQe area. This shall include an aluminum enclosure that shall <br />cover the section of ladders that extends into the pumphouse. The enclosure shall include a <br />piece of black rubber to conceal the ladders in the Qap between the pumphouse and the bodv, <br />Each ladder shall be stored veitieally in a separate stainless steel storage trough. Each <br />stainless steel trough shall be l.ined with Dura-Surf rrvlon slides. <br />To properly contain the ladders, a bright aluminum treadplate enclosure shall be provided at <br />the rear that shall extend to the rear of the side compartments. <br />Rear of ladder storage area shall have a vertically hinged bright aluminum treadplate door for <br />access to the ladders. <br />FOLDING LADDER <br />One (1) 10' aluminum, Series 585-A Duo-Safety folding ladder shall ve installed in a U- <br />shaped trough inside the ladder storage compartment. <br />Bidder <br />CompIies <br />I'es I No <br />Page 44
