No <br />INTENT OF SPECIFICATIONS <br />It shall be the intent of these specifications to cover the furnishing and delivery of a complete <br />apparatus equipped as hereinafter specified. These specifications cover only the general <br />requirements as to the type of construction and test to which the apparatus shall conform, <br />together with certain details as to finish, equipment and appliances with which the successful <br />bidder shall conform. Minor details of construction and materials, which are not othel-wise <br />specified, are left to the discretion of the eontractor, who shall be solely responsible for the <br />desi 4n and construction of all features. Apparatus proposed by the bidder shall meet the <br />requirements of the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) as stated in current <br />Pamphlet 1901 for Pumper Fire Apparatus, chapters l, 2, 3, 8, 9, 10. 11, 12, 15, and 23. <br />Loose equipment shall be pravided only as stated in the followinb pages. <br />Bids will be considered only from vendors offering equipment by rnanufacturers who <br />are lcnown to be skilled and have regularlv en?aged in the manufaciure of equipment of the <br />. .. <br />type and class specified herein. Each bidder shall furnisb satisfaetory evidence of their ability <br />' to desiLn, en2ineer and construct the vehicle specified and shall state the location of the <br />factory produciny the vehicle. The bidder shall also show that the company is in position to <br />render prompt seivice and to furnish replacement parts for said apparatus. In order to avoid <br />experimentai equipment, the successful bidder shall suppl5, the names of users of identical <br />equipment in the State of Ohio so that this municipality may contact them re¢arding the <br />equipment and service. Such Iist shall include customer's name, address, date vehicle was <br />placed in service aud current contact with phoue number. These specificatior.s shall indicate size, type, nlodel <br />and znal:e of a11 component parts and equipinent. <br />- <br />QL'ALITY AND «'ORKMANSHIP <br />The design of the apparatus shall embodv the latest approved automotive enaineerin? <br />y <br />Special <br />practices. The workinanship shall be of the highest quality in its respective tield. <br />consideration shall be given to the following points: Accessibility of the various units which <br />require periodic maintenance, ease of operation (including both pumping and driving) and <br />syinmetrical proportions. Construction sha11 be rugged and ample safety factors shall be <br />provided to carry the loads specified and to meet both on and off road requirements and speed <br />conditions as set forth under "Performance Tests and Requirements".
