T ~ <br />Ordinance No. 97-103 <br />The building sewer permit shall be issued to the applicant upon approval of plans <br />submitted for such construction. Construction involving openings or excavations in any <br />street, boulevard, avenue of other public place in the City shall be pursuant to Chapter <br />901. Construction shall be made in accordance with the plans approved by the City <br />Engineer for such construction which plans shall thereafter remain on file with the City <br />Engineering Department as a permanent public records. <br />In no case shall such work be commenced and prosecuted unless such permit is <br />issued and is on the premises of and in the possession of the person doing the work <br />authorized by the permit. Each permit shall give the correct name and number of house, <br />building or establishment and the lot or sublot upon which the same is located for the <br />work provided for in the permit. Information shall be so stated on the permit as to <br />sufficiently define by description the premises to be so served and clearly delineate the <br />location of the premises to be so served upon the map of the City's sewage system. <br />(c) All costs and expense incident to the installation and connection of the building <br />sewer shall be borne by the owner. The owner shall indemnify the City for any loss or <br />damage that may directly or indirectly be occasioned by the installation of the building <br />sewer. <br />(d) In the case of industrial waste permits, the owner shall provide at his expense a <br />sampling manhole installed between the building and the public sewer connection and shall <br />further provide a list of all chemicals used, manufacturing processes used and composition <br />of the effluent to be discharged, to the Service Director. The owner shall comply with all <br />additional requirements set for in Chapter 917. <br />(e) A separate and independent building sewer shall be provided for each unit of a <br />condominium building consisting of three units or less, and for every building, except that <br />where one building stands at the rear of an existing building, other than a condominium, <br />on an interior lot and no private sewer is available or can be constructed to the rear <br />building through an adjoining alley, court, yard or driveway, the building sewer from the <br />front building maybe extended to the rear building and the whole considered as one <br />building sewer. <br />(f) Old building sewers may not be used in connection with new buildings. No <br />more than one building sewer may be tied into a riser from the sewer main. <br />(g) The connection of the building sewer into the public sewer shall conform to <br />the requirements as established by the County Sanitary Engineering Department, or by the <br />Ordinances of the City, whichever is more restrictive. <br />2 <br />~,,,~... w ~ ~ .,..tee-..._. „~.., <br />
