#ollowing information at the time the grievance is filed, without exception: <br />• The date the grievance occurred; <br />+ The approximate time the grievance occurred; <br />• Provide detailed description of the incident giving rise to the grievance; <br />? Cite specific Articles and Sections of the Agreement involved and their direct <br />relationship to the incident; <br />• Relief requested; <br />? Name and signature ofi the employee and the date signed by the employee; <br />+ Name and signature of the Steward and the date signed by the Steward. <br />Step 1: An empioyee who has a grievance shall reduce it to writing and the grievance <br />shall be presented to the immediate supervisor by his steward, in the presence of the <br />empioyee, or, in the case of the Wastewater P)ant, the superintendent, within seven (7) <br />working days after the employee leamed or should have learned of #he event upon which the <br />grievance is based. The immediate supervisor or superintendent shall meet with the <br />employee or the employee and the steward within seven (7) working days. The supervisor <br />or superintendent shall give an answer in writing to the participants involved in the init+al <br />meeting within seven (7) working days following the date of the grievance discussion. The <br />affected employes shall be required to attend the aforementioned meeting. <br />Step 2: If the employee's grievance is not satisfactorily settled at Step 1, the <br />grievance shall be submitted to the Service Director within seven (7) working days after the <br />Step 1 answer. The Service Director and/or his designee or representatives shalf ineet with <br />the Local Union President, the Steward and the Chief Steward or his designee within seven <br />(7) working days after the grievance has been filed with the Service Director, and the City's <br />representative shall answer the grievance in writing within seven (7) working days following <br />completion of the Step 2 discussions. The affected employee shall be required to attend the <br />aforementioned meeting. <br />Step 3: The Union may appeaf the grievance to the Mayor or his designated <br />representative by g+ving him notice in writing within seven (7) working days following receipt <br />ems:opeiu/afl-cio 6 <br />98KNOLM.WPD <br />
