be from 3:00 P.M. to 11:00 P.M. Monday through Friday, inclusive of ineal time, the <br />third shift hours shall be 11:00 P.M. to 7:00 A.M. Sunday through Friday, inclusive <br />of ineat time. Such shifts shaif be fiiled as outlined in Section (B) above. The 3rd <br />shift shafl be limited to no more than 3 empbyees. The City shall bid this shift in two <br />week blocks with a finro week prior notice. For those employees with previously <br />scheduled vacation, they shall be skipped for the duration of their vacation. <br />Section 2. The City may not reduce the weekfy schedule of work for any department or employee <br />below forty (40) haurs without the agreement of the Union. This shall not prevent reduction or <br />cancellation of scheduled hours of work on a temporary basis if an emergency occurs which is <br />beyond the control of the City. <br />Section 3. Employees shall be allowed not less than thirty (30) uninterrupted minutes for a <br />scheduled lunch period daily except for other schedules mutually agreed upon with the Union. <br />Section 4. There shall be two (2) fifteen (15) minute rest periods on each shift, each work day. <br />Two rest periods, to the extent practicable, will be scheduled during the midd(e two (2) hours of each <br />shift, but they may not be scheduled immediately before or after the rnea( period or at the start or <br />end of a shift. The rest periods are to be taken at the employee's job location, but one member of <br />a crew on the road, may, when i# is possible to do so withaut terminating the operation of the crew, <br />leave the area to obtain refreshments at the nearest available source for himself and other members <br />of the crew ta be consumed at the job location. <br />(a) When an employee in the Waste Water Treatment Plant is to work an additional fufl <br />or half shift, the employee has the right to leave the plant without loss of pay for up <br />to thirty (30) minutes to obtain a meal and obtain food for lunch in the over time shift <br />if he is to work a full shift. <br />(b) When an employee in the Service Department is on an overtime assignment the <br />employee is provided a paid thirty (30) minute lunch, after approximately four (4) <br />hours of overtime ifi he is to continue work. <br />( c) When emp(oyees in the Senrice Department are on an overtime assignment for snow <br />removai or salting, or similar emergency work, they are directed by supervision either <br />to abtain food and bring it back to the yard where it can be eaten while the truck is <br />reloaded or refueled, or they can eat on the road. These meal opportunities are <br />provided as circumstances, including the severity of a storm permit, except that the <br />City guarantees a thirty (30) minute paid lunch period after approximately four (4) <br />ems:opeiuhafl-Cio <br />96KNOLM.WPD i l <br />
