hour empioyee. <br />JW- <br />Section 6. !n distributing overtime opportunities, the City or its representatives shall not engage <br />in a policy favoring an employee or employees, uniess this Agreement requires certain employees <br />to work the overtime. <br />ARTICLE 12 - MiLlTARY LEAVE <br />Section 1. An empfoyee shall be granted a leave of absence for military duty under the terms <br />and conditions provided in applicable state and federal law. <br />ARTICLE 13 - UNPAID SICK LEAVE <br />Section 1. A regular full-time employee who has completed his probationary period and who has <br />exhausted his sick leave shall be granted a leave of absence without pay for a period not to exceed <br />six (6) months for a continuing disability which is substantiated by credible medical evidence. If the <br />illness or disability continues beyond six (6) months, an additional six months' sick leave may be <br />requested. Employees must submit proof acceptable to the City of his ability to perform the work of <br />his job upon the termination of the sick leave. Any dispute as to the ability of an employee to perform <br />the work of the job shall be deterrnined pursuant to the medical examination procedure in Article 16, <br />Section 3. <br />kRTICLE 14 - UNION LEAVE <br />Section 1. Upon written request from the Union, a leave of absence without pay shall be granted <br />to not more than three (3) employees for a period of not in excess of ten (10) days per year each <br />(fifteen (15) days per year in which an employee attends the Convention of the International Union), <br />for the purpose of attending Union conventions or other Union activities which necessitate a <br />suspension of active employment.
