The eligible on-the job training (OJT) can be taken in blocks of time of up to three <br />(3) days, but time taken cannot exceed the total allowable fiime in a one (1) year period. <br />Section 6. An employee awarded a job under Articie 19 af this Agreement will be given <br />reasonable help and supervision and shaii be ailowed #hirty (30) working days to qualify for the <br />position. He will be considered to have qualified on the new jab when he satisfactorily performs the <br />required duties with no more supenrision than is required by other qualified employees on the same <br />ar similar jobs, and when his record as to quality and quantity of work meets the standard applicable <br />to the job. If he faiis to so qualify or so requests, within ten (10) days after the employee is awarded <br />the job, he shall be returned to his former job. An employee awarded a job under the provisions of <br />Article 19 sha(( receive at the time af his promotion, the appropriate rate of pay in the classification. <br />Section 7. No employee shall be e(igible for promation, or lateral or downward transfer. Under <br />these provisions until he has satisfactorily completed the required probationary period. <br />ARTlCLE 20 - TEMPORARY TRANSFERS <br />Aok <br />Section 1. When an employee is temporarily transfarred for one (1) hour or more to another <br />classification, he shai( receive the higher of his regular rate of the next higher rate of the job to which <br />he is transferred for the entire period of time af the transfer. A temporary transfer shall not exceed <br />thirly (30) working days except: <br />(a) to fi11 a vacancy caused by an employee being on sick leave or other approved leave <br />of absence; <br />(b) to provide vacation relie# scheduling; <br />(c ) to fill an opening temporarify pending permanent fiiiing of such opening; <br />(d) to meet an emergency situation; <br />(e) to meet changes in the work load; and <br />(o to accommodate the presence of summer employees. <br />Section 2. Temporary transfers shall be assigned ta the least senior employee within the <br />classification needed.
