Section 2. Seniority shall mean an employee's uninterrupted (ength of confinuous service with the City measured from his last hirin9 date as a regular part-time/full-fime employee. An empioyee shall have na seniority for #he probatianary periotl provided in article 8, Section 1, but upon compietion of the probationary periad, seniority shall be retroactive to the date of hire. Seniority wiii be accrued for regular part-time employees on actuai hours worked. Sectian 3. The City shall provide the Union with a copy of the seniority lists and these lists sha11 be updated every six (6) months. The seniority lists sha!l be made up by classifications and shall contain in order of date of hire, the name, department, date of hire and classification seniority date of each employee. Seniority lists shall be posted on each Union Bulletin Board. Section 4. Continuous service and seniority shaii be broken when an employee: (a) Quits or resigns; (b) ls discharged for just cause; (c) Is laid off for a period equal to the amount of seniority held at the time the lay-off comrnences, or forty-eight (48) consecutive months, whichever is less; (d) Faiis to repart to work within seven (7) calendar days when recalled from lay-off by certified mail addressed to the employee's last knawn address as shown on the City's records, uniess the employee is unabie to work due to medically proven disability; (e) Is absent without report for three (3) consecutive work days, unless the employee has a reasonable excuse far failing to report the absence. .Section 5. The City shali advise the Union in writing of additions to or deletions from the seniority list at the end of eacfi pay period when the action took place.
