Section 4..In the event an employee is laid off for lack of work, he shali receive payment <br />for any eamed but unused vacation as quickly as practicable, but no later than fourteen (14) <br />calendar days after the lay-off. ' ARTICLE 93 - RECALL FROM LAY-OFF <br /> <br />Section 1. Employees shall be recalled to their classification in accordance with seniority, <br />or to other jobs they are qualified to perform, in accordance with their seniority in the reverse order <br />of their lay-off. An empioyee on !ay-off will be given seven (7) ca)endar days' notice of recali from <br />the date on which the United States Postal 5eniice makes the first attempt to deliver the recail <br />notice by certified mail to the employee's last known address as shown on the City's records. This <br />period may be extended by agreement between the City and the Union. <br /> <br />ARTICLE 14- PROMOTIONS. BiDDING. TRANSFERS AND JOB TRAINING <br />Section 1. Within ten (10) days of when a vacancy occurs within a job classification <br />covered by the terms of this Agreement, or a new job is created within the meaning of Article 18 <br />of this Agreement, the City shall post a notice of the opening for seven (7) consecutive caiendar <br />days on bulletin boards within each department. If the City determines that it wiil not fi(f a vacanf <br />position it.will so notify the Union within ten (10) days of when the position became vacant. The <br />notice shall contain thejob classification, title, rate of pay, department and a brief job description. <br />Any employee may apply for any such opening posted by filing a written application on forms <br />provided by the City, with the appropriate Director on or before the last day of the posting period. <br />Any appiication not timely filed need not be given consideration. <br />ems:opeiu/1794afl-cio -22- <br />?
