a Holiday or Sick Leave paid Day. He/she would receive as Holiday pay or Sick Leave pay; <br />provided ail Holiday conditionslrules or Sick Leave conditions/rules are met, 3 hours at Community <br />Rate + 5 hours at Regular Operator rate.) The Community Circulator Operator Hourly Rates are <br />listed in the schedules. <br />Section 34.02 Operators who are assigned a training operator shall be paid an additional forty <br />cents ($.40) per hour for the time spent with the training operator and shall be required to rate <br />and evaluate the training operator. <br />Section 34.03 There is an established operator training program which shall not exceed thirty <br />(30) days and any operator who is included within said training progcam shall be paid the then <br />established federal minimum hourly wage rate, for the hours spent in training. All road <br />instruction shall be conducted by only full-time operators. <br />Section 34.04 Dispatcher/Driver <br />a. When the Employer determines the necessity to fi11 the appointed position of <br />Dispatcher/Driver, the Employer shall post the position for a petiod of three (3) <br />consectrtive days. Employees interested in applying for the appointed position of <br />Dispatcher/Driver shall be required to file a written application with the General Manager <br />or his designee within the time period stated in the posting. The General Manager or his <br />designee shall review all applications received and interview those appiicants he deems <br />possesses skills and abilities to satisfactorily perform the functions and duties of the position. <br />If no employee makes application or if it is determined by the Creneral Manager or his <br />designee that none of the applicants possess such skiils and abilities, the Employer may <br />assign a bargaining unit Employee of it's choice or fill the position from outside of the <br />bargaining unit. <br />b. When such appointment to the position of Dispatcher/Driver is determined by the <br />Employer to be for a temporary period of time not to exceed thirty (30) days, posting of the <br />position shall not be required*and the Employer shall assign an Employee of it's choice <br />during this temporary period. The Employer shail assign an Employee of it's choice for a <br />temporary period of time which may exceed thirty (30) days without posting under the <br />following circumstances: (i) to fill a vacancy caused by an Employee being on sick ieave <br />or other approyed leave of absence; (ii) to provide vacation relief scheduling; (iii) to meet <br />an emergency situation; and (iv) to meet temporary changes in the work laad. The <br />Employer reserves the right to appoint an Employee of their choice to the position of <br />Dispatcher/Driver. <br />c. The number of Dispatcher/Drivers appointed and the hours worked shall be at the sole <br />discretion of the employer. A Dispatcher/Driver shall work a minimum of five (5) days in a <br />work week and a minimum of forty (40) hours per work week. <br />d. The Employer reserves the right to assign and return a Dispatcher! Driver to their <br />former position with no loss of seniority. The employee also reserves the right to return to <br />their former position with continuing accrual of seniority. In either above case a minimum <br />of a two week notice shall be given and the employee shall return at the beginning of the <br />next Run Pick. <br />e. An Employee in the appointed position of DispatcherlDriver shall be paid on an hourly <br />basis and shail be paid an additional fifty cents ($.50) per-hour above their particular rate <br />step, based upon the Operator Title, in Exhibits A-1 to A-5. <br />£ Employees in the appointed position of DispatchedDriver shall be paid spread time like <br />-co an operator as outlined in Section 7 of the Green Book. <br />30 <br />-.,,--
