<br />0 <br />Page #19 <br />.or+er. <br />..... <br />REPAIR AND RESURFACING UF <br />INTERSTATE RUUTE 90 URBAN 5ECTION <br />CITY OF CLEVEI,AND, OHIO <br />Owner: Ohio Department of T'ransportation <br />Project Cost: $15.7 Million <br />Completion Date: 1995 <br />Deacription: <br />Polytech, Inc. was chosen by the Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) as prime consultamt <br />to provide engineeiing services for the upgrading, repair and resurfacing of a 4.92 nrile section of <br />Itrterstate Route 90 (I-90) between West 159th Street and West 44th Street. These services included <br />the development of roadway and maintenance of traffic plans. <br />[nterstate Route 90 in the west side of the City of Cleveland carries four lanes of traffic in each <br />direction and is a vital link cosuiec,? the westem suburbs to Dowmown Cleveland, besides catrying <br />traffic on the interstate link between Chicago, Illinois, aad Buffalo, New Yotk. It was originslly <br />designed and constructed in the 196Us and 1970's with concrete pavemeut, asphait shouldexs, aud <br />conccete bazriers along portions of the median. The 4.92 mile section includes five (5) inierchattges, <br />seven (7) dual bridges, and thirteen (13) single bridges. The contract plans included the following <br />items of work: <br />1) Roadway Design: <br />• concrete pavement repairs by partial-depth, full-depth or complete slab repiacement <br />• widening of sub-standard ramQs <br />• constniction of new concrete shoulders <br />• replacement or reconstruction of pressure relief joints <br />? resurfacing of mainline, ramps and marginal roads <br />? temoval of concrete curbing at gore areas <br />? guardrail replacement, including upgrading of terminal assemblies to meet current <br />standards <br />• reshsping and upgrading drainage (itches and stiuctures <br />• installation of new underdrains <br />• right-of-way feace replacement <br />2) Maintenance of Traffic: <br />
