, ?. <br />` • . <br />_ ALCOfiOL AND DRUG ABUSE POLICY <br />? <br />The city of North Olmsted has a responsibility to <br />provide its residents with the safest possible service <br />and its employees with the safest possible work <br />environment. <br />In view of the city's deep concern and interest in <br />protecting the safety of our residents and 'employees, <br />any employee will be required to submit to testing for <br />the presence of alcohol and/or drugs in.:his/her system <br />under the following circumstances: .,' <br />* At the time of the pre-employment physical <br />examination. <br />* At the time of any work-related physical examination. <br />?Idhen two supervisors concur t•hat the employee <br />appears to be acting ic an impaired manner. <br />? When the employee is in an accident involvic.g: <br />*• a pedes trian * a..fixed'object <br />* two or more city vehicles <br />• a city vehicle striking the rear end of another <br />vehicle. <br />*.a head-on collision <br />• a city vehicle striking another vehicle <br />broadside * substantial physical damage <br />• personal injury <br />- When an employee is in flagrant violation of <br />standard'operat-ing procedures. <br />* As a condition of discipline due to a previous <br />_ offense. <br />* When an employee returns from any unscheduled <br />absence from work whereby two or more consecutive days <br />of absence occurred, the employee may be required to <br />submit to a test. <br />The discipline associated vith positive test results <br />are: <br />ALCOHOL - <br />Job applicants - Not hired
