, <br />. <br />Probationary Employees - Immediate Discharge <br />Non-Probationary Employees - <br />0.01% to 0.04% - 3 week suspension up to discharge <br />0.05% to 0.09% - 4 week suspension up to discharge <br />plus alcoholism program (hospitalization) <br />and lZ years attendance in Alcoholics <br />Anonymous or equivalent program <br />0.10% and higher - Immediate Discharge <br />(Legal Intoxication Level) <br />The degree of discipline imposed (3 tb 4 weeks <br />suspension up to discharge) will depe'hd upon the <br />circumstances of the incident in quesbion and the <br />employee's overall record. However, the 3 and 4 week <br />suspensions are a minimum discipline. .. <br />NOTE: In an effort to aid employees who are alcoholics <br />or have serious drinking problems, there is an <br />alcoholism rehabilitation program designed for <br />employees who nee3 professional help to stop <br />" drinking. It is an intensive program involving <br />possible hospitalization and a rigorous <br />Alcoholics Anonymous or_.similar organization <br />meeting schedule_ <br />The program is intended for employees who <br />voZuntarily submit themselves for professional <br />help caith their drinking problems. If an <br />employee is found working while under the <br />influence of alcohol, he/she is s.ubject to <br />discipline as specified above. Thus-, it would. <br />be to the employee's best interest, as well as <br />that of the employer* <br />to recognize?thaE he/she has a drinking problem <br />and voluntarily enter the pragram. Inquiries <br />will be kept conf idential. <br />The alcoholism rehabilitation program is open <br />to any employee on a one-time basis. Any <br />employee desiring enrollment must contact the <br />Director.of Personnel and Administrative Services <br />prior to entering the program. Inquiries will <br />kept confidential. _
