<br />!s <br />MARIJUANA-RELATED SUBSTANCES <br />Job applicants - Not hired <br />Probationary Employees - Immediate discharge <br />Non-Probationary Employees - <br />Positive saliva test or any test which indicates <br />usage within a 6 hour period - Immediate discharge <br />Positive blood or urine test ' <br />* First offense - first step: discharge <br />second step: may uphold discharge <br />or redece penalty to 30 calendar <br />day susgension if record is, <br />otherwise, satisfactory <br />* Second offense - Immediate discharge <br />When an employee returns from suspension, the employee <br />- is retested. If the results are still positive, the <br />employee will be suspended for an additional 30 <br />? calendar days. Upon retesting at the conclusion of ' <br />t.he second 30 calendar day suspension, if the test <br />results are positive the employee is immediately <br />discharged. An employee who returns to work from a <br />m arijuana-related suspension is subject to testing <br />at any time. <br />Note:. In an effott to aid employees who use marijuana - <br />and/or related substances, the city maintains a list of rehabilitation programs <br />designed for employees Who need professional help <br />to stop using marijuana and/or related substances. <br />The.list is available from the Director of <br />Personnel and Administrative Services. <br />Inquiries will be kept confidential. <br />PRESCRIPTION DRUGS <br />Job Appiicants - If the applicant is using a <br />prescription drug which affects his/her ability to- <br />perform the applicant's proposed job duties, he/she <br />will not be considered for employment unless the <br />Diiector of Personnel and Administrative Services <br />has received prior to testing all of the following: <br />e <br />f <br />?
