For the purposes of this Article, a sudderi and accidental injury shall include such incidents as injuries sustained from fire, smoke inhalation, collapse of a building, automobile accident and the like, all of which are not subject to the exception contained within this paragraph. It shall not be considered a sudden and accidental injury if the injury or incapacity results from lifting, slippino, trippinb or falling in situations other than those in a valorous situation as specified herein. 16.2 Any full-time Fmployee of the Fire Department who qualifies for benefits under this Section shall be required to pay over to the City any amount received fron the Bureau of Workers Compensation as supplemental xvages. k-urther, if at any tirie the City determines, on the basis of inedical evidence, that the Fmployee is permanently disabled and will no lonber be able to carry on his duties, then the City may terminate payments and insist that the Fmployee go on a pension prooram. 16.3 Any Finployee who qualifies for the benefits tmder this Section shall not have his accur.iulated sick time reduced because of a qualified accidental injury or illness which occurred while in the line of duty.
