ARTTCLE XXV <br />LIGHT DIJri'Y <br />25.1 The Fire Chief or his desio ee may at his discretion assign an <br />rr,iployee to Light Duty, should an Enployee be tmable to perform <br />his rebular job tasks. The Employee shall provide upon request <br />of the Fire Chief, medical certification frora.the Fnployee's <br />physician citing the Employee's physical Limitations, explaining <br />why the Employee can't perforn his regular job task and <br />responsibilities and a prognosis of how lonb the Employee will <br />be unable to perforn his regular job tasks. <br />The Employee may subr,iit a request to the Fire Chief or nis <br />designee to be assio'ned to Light Duty. The employee shall first <br />submit a request to the Fire Chief or his designee along with <br />corroboration frar,i the Fr,iployee's physician citino: the <br />Fmployee`s physical linitation, iahy the Employee can't perform <br />his job task and responsibilities and a progmosis of how long <br />the Employee will be required to refrain from periorning his job <br />task. <br />` Light Duty, if approved, shail be limited to availability of <br />Light Duty assigrnnents and whicn is medically appropriate and <br />which contributes to the function and mission of the Fire <br />Department. All Light Duty assign.^ients are to be of a <br />ter.iporary nature. <br />Should an Fmployee be assigned to Light Duty for any period of <br />tirne, the Employee riust submit satisfactory medical <br />certification from his physician stating that the Fm-ployee can <br />return to his regularly assigned job task prior to reinstatement <br />to regular duty. <br />25.2 Any Fmployee while assigned to Light Duty shall continue to <br />receive all conpensaticn and fringe benefits, including <br />accwnulation of seniority attached to his normally assigned <br />position. <br />?,. -23- <br />?.?,
