<br /> <br />17 <br />,-R-209.3 Delete <br />R-210 - Exits (Amended) <br />??. <br />R-210.1 Exit required. Not less than two exits conforming to this chapter <br />shall be provided from each dwelling unit. <br />R-218 (Amended) <br />R-218.2 TOWNHOUSES: Each townhouse shall be considered a separate building <br />and separated by separate walls meeting the requirements of Section R-202. <br />EXCEPTION: A common 2-hour fire-resistive wall is permitted for <br />townhouses if such walls do not contain plumbing or mechanical equipment, <br />ducts or vents in the cavity of the common wall. Electrical <br />installations are limited to electrical wire installed in metallic <br />raceways and metaliic electrical outlet boxes. Metallic el'ectrical <br />outlet boxes shall not exceed 16 square inches in surface area. The <br />aggregate surface are of the boxes shall not exceed 100 square inches for <br />any 100 square feet of wall area. Metallic outlet boxes on opposite <br />sides of walls shall be separated by a minimum distance of 24 inches. <br />Metallic electrical outiet boxes shall be instalied in accordance with <br />their listings. <br />Section R-306 Dampproofing (Amended).The first paragraph of Section R-306.1 <br />is herby amended to read as follows: <br />Exterior foundation walls of masonry construction enclosing basements shall be <br />dampproofed by applying not less than 3/8 inch portland cement parging to the <br />wall from footing to finish grade. The parging shali be covered with a coat <br />of approved bituminous material applied at the recommended rate. Exterior <br />foundation walls of concrete construction enclosing basements shall be damp- <br />proofed by applying a coat of approved bituminous material to the wall_from <br />the footing to six inches above the finished grade at the the recommended <br />rate. <br />Sec.R-308-Protection Against Decay and Termites (Amended) The following <br />sentence is added to Section R-308: The top row of concrete block on the <br />foundation must be solid type block to prevent termites from infesting the <br />building. <br />Section R-603 - Concrete Floors (On Ground) (Amended) <br />R-603.1 General: Concrete slab-on-ground floors shall be constructed in <br />accordance with Figure No.R-303. The specified compressive strength of ..r`.: <br />concrete at 28 days shall be not less than 2,500 pounds per square inch except where weather exposure requires greater strength and air-entrained <br />concrete, as set forth in Table No. R-302.2. <br />Slabs shall be constructed with control joints having a depth of at least <br />one-fourth the slab thickness, and joints shall be spaced at intervals not <br />more than 30 feet in each direction and slabs not rectaagular in shape shall <br />have control joints across the slab at points of offset, it offset exceeds 10 <br />feet.
