ARTICLE XXV <br />HOLIDAYS <br />Section 25.01. All full-time mployees <br />be entitled to eleven (11) holidays annually, <br />l. New Year's Day <br />2. Easter <br />3. Memorial Day (Observed) <br />4. Independence Day <br />5. Labor Day <br />6• Thanksgiving Day <br />7. Christmas Day <br />8. Fmployment Anniversary Date <br />9. Fmployee's Birthday <br />*10. Floating Holiday <br />*11. Floating Holiday <br />of the Transit Department shall <br />as follows: <br />*NOTE: Effective January 1, 1992 and thereafter; Floating holidays may be <br />used anytime during the calendar year, subject to Section 25.05. <br />If any full-time employee is required to work on any of the following nine <br />(9) Holidays; New Year's Day, Easter, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor <br />Day, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, or the da,ys an employee observes his <br />birthday or employment anniversary day, then the employee shall be paid time <br />and one-half for such work in ad.dition to the holiday pay. <br />Section 25.02. The use of holiday time by full-time employees shall be <br />subject to the bnployer's administrative rules and regulations. When an <br />observed holiday falls on the first day of a weekend, the holiday will be <br />celebrated on the day preceding the weekend. When a holiday falls on the <br />secorxi day of a weekerxl the holida.y will be celebrated on the day succeeding <br />the weekend. If a holiday occurs while an employee is an vacation leave, <br />the employee may either receive the extra eight (8) hours holiday pay or <br />pick another day off. <br />Section 25.03. For an employee to receive holiday pay he must work the <br />compiete scheduled day precedirig and the complete scheduled day following <br />the holiday. If an employee fails to work he shall forfeit his holiday pay. <br />Fmployees who call in sick for the holiday, sha,ll also forfeit the holiday <br />pay. Holiday pay and sick leave sha.ll not be paid on the same day. <br />Management discretion may be used in this section for special situations. <br />-22-
