? ., <br />ORUINANCE NO. 3158 <br />Page 6 <br />(a) Any liquid or vapor having a temperature higher than 1500 F. <br />(b) Any water or wastes containi.ng free oilss eiaulsified oils and <br />grsase exceeding an average of 100 parts per mi7.lion (833 pounas <br />per million gallons) of other soluble matter. <br />(c) Any gasolineJ benzene' *iaphtha, fuel oil, or other flammable flr <br />explosive liquid., solid or gas. <br />(d) Any garbage that has not bean properly shredded. <br />(e) Any ashess cinders, sarids mud, straw., shavi.ngs, metal, glass., rags., <br />feathers, tar plastics, wood paunch, manure, hair and fleshings, <br />entrails., lime slurry, lime residuss, chemical residues.. paint res3.dues, <br />cannery waste, bulk sol.ids or an,y other solid or viscous substance capable <br />of causi.ng obstruction to the flow in sewers or other intarference with <br />proper oneration of the sewa?e works. <br />(f) Any waters ar wastes having a pK lower than 5.5 or higher than 9.0, or <br />having any other corrosive property capable of causing damage or haz€t.rd <br />to structures.. equa.pment and personnel of the sewage works. <br />(g) Any wastes or waters containing a toxic or poisonous substance, (other <br />tkan those specifically mentionsd in this sections) in sufficient <br />quantity to injure or interfere with aray sewage treatment process, con- <br />stitute a hazard to humans or animals, or create any hazard 3_n the <br />receiving waters of the sewage treatment plant. <br />(h) Any waters or wastes containing suspended solids of such character and <br />quantity that unusual attention or expense is required to handl.e, sucri <br />materials at the sewage treatment plant. <br />(i) Any noxious or malodorous gas or substarvice capable of creating a publi.c <br />nuisance, or substances causing the release of noxious or poisonous <br />gases after discharge into the publ3.o sewer system. <br />(j) The limits at the industry's sewer outlet for toxic wastes, Mases oil <br />and oil emulsions will be stipulated in indieidual cantracts between the <br />city and industry at the ti.me industry requests permission to use the <br />City's sanitary sewer system for the discharge of its industrial Waste. <br />Said limi.ts shal2 be established by the Service Director _for each industry <br />in a manner to assure that the concentrations of the several waetes a.t the <br />sewage treatrnent works will not exceed ttiose stipulated in paragraph (k) <br />hereof when diluted with sewage• Under no conditions will the dis- <br />charge of cancentrated plating baths or acid pickling liquar to the <br />sanitary sewer system be permitted whether neutralized or not. <br />.???. <br />
