Page 5. <br />Rule 35. - It is strictly enjoined upon a.ll members and employees of <br />the Fire Department to be careful in the use of all City property <br />whether fixed or movable. Roughness or carelessness is not to be <br />tolerated and will be made the subject of charges by the Officers who <br />are held responsible for the execution of this rule. <br />Rule 36. - It shall be deemed "Neglect of Duty" for any member of the <br />Department wh.o loses his shield, or other insignia, of his office, or <br />other property of this City entrusted to his care, to neglect to report <br />such loss immediately through channels to the Criief of the Fire Depart- <br />ment. When any article of City property described above has been lost by <br />a member a new one shall be issued to him and he shall reimburse the City <br />for its cost. If the original item is found and returned to the Depart- <br />ment, the member shall be notified and reimbursed. <br />Rule 370 - WYienever a member or employee of this Department violates any <br />rule of said Department, the officer in charge may call to the attention <br />-- of each and every member or employee of the bepartment on dut-y-to the <br />infraction of the rule or rules vi.olated; an officer in charge shall <br />crder each member or employee of the Department to make a report of hi.s <br />knowledge of the infraction of the rule or rules that the member or <br />employee of the Department violatec3, and said officer in charge shall <br />forward said reports to the office of the Chief along with his own <br />report in the case. <br />Rule 38. - In the case of death of any member or employee of the Derar?;- <br />r,;ent, all Department property shall be returned to the Chief by the <br />officer in charge within ten days of the date of death. In the event <br />of the resignation of any member or employee of the Department, all <br />departmental property shall be surrendered to the Chief or offi,;er in <br />charge at the time of the resignation. In the event of the dismissal <br />of any member of or employee of the Department, all departmental propertJ <br />shall be returned to the Chief within ten days after the effective daLe <br />of said dismissal. <br />i?Lle 39, •- No member of the Department or employee of the Department <br />ghall be absent from duty without permission from the Chief or the <br />„ommanding officer in charge, who shal2 first determine that his absence <br />laill not hinder the operati.on of the service, unless, such absence from <br />duty involves sickness. In the event any member or employee of the <br />Department is taken ill whiie off duty and is unable to report for duty <br />at the time deszgnated for such report to duty, shall promptly nn`i ":- <br />the offic-3.r in charge. Such report shall be as promptly made as is <br />possible under the circumstances. <br />I-'ule 40. - Any member of the Department having a grievance shall make <br />.iis complaint in writing to the Chief of the Fire Departmento <br />Rule 41. - The ranking officers, or other officers assigned to super- <br />vision, shall see tnat all orders are promulga±ed to the D°partment <br />and are carried out to the letter at all times. <br /> <br />
