That beginning July 15, 1962, the base salaries of <br />the members of the Police Department are hereby fixed and determined to <br />be as follows: <br />Chief of Police $7,230.31 Annually <br />Lieutenant of Police 6,698.95 " <br />Sergeants 6,318.08 " <br />Patrolman for First Year 5,320.73 <br />Patrolman for Second Year 5,566.49 <br />Patrolman After Second Year 6,002,40 " <br />School Guards 1.75 Per Hour <br />Auxiliary Police 1,75 Per Hour <br />which salaries shall be payable by the Director of Finance 8emi~m~nth;ly. <br />Full time employees of the Police Department having completed <br />five years of continuous service as a full time employee of said department <br />and only after assuming full time employment in said department, shall be <br />paid an additional ~t~ta percent of their base annual salary thereafter <br />until completion of the 10th year of continuous service as a full time <br />employee in said department, when such employee shall receive three percent <br />of his base annual salary per annum thereafter until the completion of <br />his 15th year of continuous service in said department as a full time <br />employee, and thereafter shall receive four percent additional increment <br />to his base annual salary per annum thereafter until the completion of his <br />20th year of continuous service in said department as a full time employee <br />and upon the completion of said 20th year of said continuous service in <br />said department as a full time employee and during each year of full time <br />employment thereafter, shall receive an additional five percent of his <br />base annual salary per annum, as a longevity increment. In computing length <br />of service for the purpose of making payments in the manner hereinabove <br />set forth as longevity increments, no credit shall be given to an <br />employee for service as a part-time employee of either the Police Department <br />or Fire Department. Such limitation is only to apply for the purpose of <br />computing longevity increments and such exclusions for any part time <br />employee in either of the safety departments shall not deprive or restrict <br />an employee of any other benefit which may be due him for such part time <br />service as an employee in either safety department, which benefits are <br />recognized by ordinances of the city for other purposes, statutes of the <br />State of Ohio or benefits to which he may be entitled to under the rules <br />and regulations of the Police Relief and Pension Fund or the Ohio Public <br />Employees Retirement System. <br />In addition to the regular base salty, plus increment and other <br />wage increases, all regular members of the Police Department, including <br />officers, shall on their original appointment to the department and during <br />the first calendar year during their appointment, receive $175.00 clothing <br />allowance and shall during each calendar year thereafter, receive a clothing <br />allowance of $150.00 to be determined and disbursed by and with the approval <br />of the Chief of the Police Department. <br />(Explanatory only - Longevity Increment) <br />1 - 5 years No I nc remen t <br />6 - 10 years inclusive 2%, Increment <br />11 - 15 years inclusive 3% Increment <br />16 - 20 years inclusive 4% Increment <br />21 years ~ thereafter per year 5% Increment <br /> <br />
