ORDINANCE No, 62 <br />Page 3 <br />(Bxplanatory only - Longevity Increment) <br />1 - 5 years No Increment <br />6 - 10 years inclusive 1 % Increment <br />11 - 16 years inclusive 3 '~ Increment <br />l6 - 20 years inclusive 4 96 Increffient <br />21 years & thereafter per year 5 % Increment'" <br />be and the same are hereby amended to read as foiic~wss <br />'Section is That beginning Jul 15, 1962, the base <br />salaries of the members of the Police department are hereby <br />fixed and determined to be as foilc~ws: <br />Chief of Police $ 7,:y30,31 Annually <br />Lieutenant of Police 6,69$.93 "' <br />Sergeants 6,799.56 <br />Patrolman for First Year 3,320.73 ~' <br />Patrolman for Second Year 5,366.49 " <br />Patrolman After Second Year 6,402..44 <br />Scho01 Guards 1.75 Per Hour <br />Auxiliary Police 1.75 Per Hour <br />which salaries sha11 be payable by the Director of Finance as <br />follows r <br />Full time employees of the Police Department having com- <br />pleted five years of continuous service as a full time employee <br />of said department and only after assuming full time e~ployment <br />is said department, sha11 be paid an additional one percent of <br />their base annual salary thereafter until completion of the 10th <br />year of eontanu®us service as a fu11 time employee in said de- <br />partment, when such esployee shall receive three percent of his <br />base annual salary per annum thereafter until the completion of <br />his 15th year of continuous service in said department as a fu11 <br />time employee, and thereafter shall receive fear percent additional <br />increment to his base annual salary per annum thereafter until the <br />completion of his 24th year of continuous service in maid depart- <br />ment as a full time empl©yee and upon the completi®n of said 20th <br />year of said continuous service in said department as a full time <br />employee and during each year of full time esplaysent thereafter,, <br />shall receive an additional five percent of his 'Wass annual salary <br />per annum, as a longevity increment. In competing length of sez- <br />vice for the purpaae of making payments in the manner herenabove <br />set forth as longevity increments, no credit shall be given to an <br />employee for service as a part-time employee of either the Police <br />Department or Fire Department. Such limitation is only to apply <br />for the purpose of competing longevity increments and such ex- <br />clusions for any part tame employee in either of the safety de- <br />partments shall not deprave or restrict an employee of any bstrher <br />benefit which may be due him for such part tine service as an <br />employee an either safety department, which benefits are recog- <br />nized by ordinances of the city for other parposeas, statutes of <br />the State of Ohio or benefits to which he may be entitled t4 <br />under the rules and regulations of the P+~lice Relief and Pension <br />Fund or the dhio Fubiie ~mpioyees Retirement System. <br />In addition to the regular base salary, plus increment and <br />other wage increases, all regular ®eebers of the Police Depart- <br />ment, including officers, shall on their original appointment <br />to the department and during the first calendar year during their <br />appointment, receive $175.00 clothing allowance and shall during <br />each calendar year thereafter, receive a clothing allowance of <br />
