<br />CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />ORDINANCE N0. 78- /.? <br />PAGE 2. <br />?. <br />Serviceman $6.88 per hour to start <br />$7.035 per hour after one year <br />$7.195 per hour after two years <br />Extra Labor $2.65 to $4.60 per hour <br />SECTION 3: Work Week - Overtime <br />A. The normal work week for regular full time employees of <br />the North Olmsted Municipal Bus Line shall be forty (40) hours. <br />Said work week shall commence at 12:01 A.M. Sunday through 12:00 <br />Midnight Saturday. It is recognized that the bus line shall be <br />maintained on a schedule compatible with e£ficient and practical <br />transit service seven (7) days a week. Therefore, it is further <br />recognized that the North Olmsted Municipal Bus Line retains the <br />right to manage and direct the work force as well as the right to <br />determine the manner and method of assigning work. It is further <br />recognized that some employees may be assigned to work schedules to <br />accommodate seven (7) day per week service which may of necessity <br />involve overtime work. Hourly employees will be paid at time and <br />one-half of the straight time rate for all hours in excess of eight <br />(8) hours per day, and also, time and one-half of their straight <br />time rate for all hours worked in excess of forty (40) hours in any <br />one work week. However, under no circumstances shall there be a <br />pyramiding of overtime. It should also be noted that the North Olmsted <br />Municipal Bus Line shall determine the manner and method of assigning <br />and offering all overtime work which is consistent with efficient <br />transit practices. <br />B. When a bus driver is assigned work on his scheduled day <br />off it is understood that time will be paid at the time and one-half <br />rate with the exception of charter work. The time worked in charter <br />service will be paid on a straight time rate and will not be used in <br />computing overtime pay. <br />C. With respect to non-bus driving personnel, in the computa- <br />tion of weekly overtime, recognized holidays shall be considered as <br />time worked to the extent of the normal regular hours called for, <br />except where the holiday coincides with the scheduled day off of the <br />employee. <br />D. All salaried employees may be paid overtime upon recommen- <br />dation of department heads and approval of the appointing authority, <br />at the time and one-half hourly rate, provided, however, that in no <br />such instance shall daily and weekly overtime be duplicated. <br />All such salaried employees who work in excess of the <br />applicable and appropriate basic work week hours shall be paid for <br />such excess time worked at his or her time and one-half hourly rate <br />in addition to his or her salary, provided that such overtime is <br />authorized by the employee's supervisor. <br />In the computation of weekly overtime, recognized holidays <br />shall be considered as time worked to the extent of the normal regular <br />hours called for, except where the holiday coincides with the scheduled <br />day off of the employee. <br />E There is hereby established a work training program within <br />the Municipal Bus Line. Said training period shall not exceed thirty <br />(30) days and any driver who is included within said training program <br />shall be paid at the rate of $21.20 per day.
