At the same time, while on duty, he is to avoid <br />as much as possible, entering into unnecessary conversation with anyone. He shall. <br />in a respectful manners give his name and number to all persons who may ask for <br />same. <br />yule S8. All members of this department are prohibited from influencing or attempt- <br />ing to influence by threat or otherwise the business of any citizen, <br />~,ule 59. Member8 and employees of this Department, whose hours of duty are not <br />regulated by the rules will report at t~~e time and place designated by the Ghief <br />of Police. Any whose hours are governed by the rules may be required to report in <br />emergency cases at such times and places as designated by the Chief of Police or <br />other Superior officer. <br />Rule b0. It is strictly enjoined upon all members and employees of the Police <br />Department to be careful in the use of all City property whether fixed or movable. <br />Roughness or carelessness is not to be tolerated and will be made the subject of <br />charges by the Officers who are held responsible for the execution of this rule. . <br />Rule 61. It shall be deemed "Neglect of Duty" for any member of the Department <br />who loses his shield, revolver o~^ other ins~i.gnia of his office or other property <br />of this City entrusted to his ca~•e, to neg:.ect to report such loss immediately <br />through channels to the Chief of Polices When any article of City property <br />described abovra has been lost by a m~nber a new one shall be issued to him ark. <br />he shall relmburee the City for yts cost, If the origa.nal item is found and re- <br />turned to the department, the member shall be notified and reimbursed.. <br />Rule 62. The Officer in Charge shall make charges against any member under his <br />cognmand who shall by reason of neglect of duty fail to discover a homicide, bur- <br />glary or other serious breach of the peace committed on his post during his tour <br />of duty, or who shall neglect to take proper measures to arrest any party guilty <br />of such an offense. <br />Rule 63. Members of the Department must see that necessary permits, issued by <br />proper authority, are in the possession of the person or persons, when such permits <br />are required by law or ordinance. They shall see to it that the conditions stipu- <br />lated thereon axe complied with. <br />Rule b4. Whenever a metaber of this Department violates any rule of said Depart- <br />ment, in the presence of another member, the Officer an Charge shall call the at- <br />tention of each and every member present to the condition of the meu-ber violating <br />the rules or rules, and to the rule or rules being violated, and shall keep each <br />of the different members at the station until the case is preliminarily disposed <br />of. He shall order each mesaber present to make a report of his observation of the <br />condition of the member violating the rule or rules, and the officer shall for- <br />ward said reports to the office of the Chief of Police along with his own report <br />in the case <br />Rule b~. No member of the force shall, when arresting any prisoner, permit any <br />delay, under any pretense, in removing said prisoner, at onee~ by the shortest <br />route to the station. <br />Rule 66. Property stolen or embezzled, which shall be found in the possession of <br />any person who may be arrested, shall be taken to the police station along with the <br />~~,~_ person arrested and all stolen, found or unclaimed property shall be delivered <br />
