..g., <br />Rule 74. No person, not a member of the Police Department, except a physician, <br />near relative or the spiritual or legal advisor of the prisoner, shall be ger-- <br />mitted $b enter the prison at at~y time for the purpose of commwzicating with <br />any prisoner. Superior officers will be held strictly responsible for the en- <br />forcement of this rule. <br />Rule 75, Arty member of the Department feeling aggrieved because of the treat- <br />ment of orders of his superior officer, shall make his complaint in writing and <br />forward the same through the proper charmel to the Chief of Police. <br />Rule 76. The ranking officers, or other officers assigned to supervision, shall <br />see that all orders are promulgated to the Department and are carried out to the <br />letter at all times. <br />Rule 77. When any abandoned or stolen bars, wrecked cars, or any cars which are <br />~.~, to be removed from the streets, are to be towed in, the call will be placed with <br />the nearest public garage. <br />Rule 78. Whenever any member of the Department shall answer any public or Police <br />telephone, he shall distinctZ,y state his name and rank. <br />Rule 79. When any call shall come i.-~to the police switchboard asking for the <br />Chief of Police or other member of the Depa,r-~r,~er.+,, and that person is not in his <br />office, the call will be switcrad to one of 'the superior officers, or an attempt <br />shall be made to obtain the name of the caller so that proper attention may be <br />given the call. <br />Rule 80. No member of the Police Department shall make an arrest for any person, <br />or for any other Police Department, unless the mo~cber has a warrant or a wire <br />stating that they hold a warrant and the same is properly executed, <br />Rule 81. Any member of the Department, not authorized, who gives out information <br />to the press or other individuals regarding police work or any activity of the <br />Departments will be immediately suspended pending a hearing before the Mayor. <br />Rule 82. All members of this Department must take care of their cases in court <br />promptly. If for any reason they are unable to attend court, they must arrange <br />with the officer in charge to have some other officer attend court and have the <br />case disposed of or continued. <br />Rule 83. The switchboard operators shall keep a check and a log on all long dis- <br />tance telephone calls, and telegrams sent over the facilities of this department, <br />as wef'1 as the charges on same and the person and city cal7.ed, or the person and <br />city calling. <br />Rule 84. No telegram or Long distance telephone call regarding police works or <br />personal matter shall be sent out, or charged to the facilities of this depart- <br />ment, unless permission has been received from the Chief of Police. If he is <br />not available, then permission can be obtained from the one whom the Chief of <br />Police has authorized to give such permiss~.on during his absence. <br />Rule 85, All switchboard operators shall immediately report to his superior <br />officer, any officer who reports late, or any other laxness of duty on the part <br />of such officer. <br />Rule 86. Any officer, when placing a car in the Police garage, or any other gar- <br />~' age, shall give in writing, the date, time, motor, and license numbers and all <br />~ifi. <br />
